26psi boost creeping, ebay O2 beast tamed by TTP-Engineering +75whp!

Dion was referred to us from some of our Tampa, FL customers. His silver Evo IX GSR Had a concoction of ebay parts slapped together for us to work with. We don't discriminate, however do enjoy customer who we can save shortly after they purchase the car so we can get them on the right track early. The parts we noticed were intake, ebay exhaust manifold and Ebay O2 housing with TBE.
We got to work and strapped down the IX to do a baseline pull. To our surprise, the car's boost response was slow and laggy, yet at 5500rpms the boost creep took over and raised the boost 10psi greater than the set psi as wastegate hole in the EBAY O2 housing was so small that it could not expel the wasted gases fast enough through the tiny hole to slow down the turbo. On the bright side, it did hold 22psi to redline.

This is one of those cases where you cannot measure peak to peak gains as these mere NUMBERS are meaningless without a graph. Due to the severe boost creep, the high boost the car came in with produced decent numbers as a peak, but the area under the curve was horrible.
If it was our decision, we would have swapped this O2 housing out asap, however we were merely there to tune this one so we coped as best as we could. With less boost and focusing on the torque curve and area under the WHP curve, we meticulously worked on the linearity of the tune and worked around the boost creep. With a replacement O2 housing the car would certainly have made more torque, however with what we had to work with, I think we made huge improvements in usable power and torque.
Here is the overlay of before and after the tune with the tuned map on slightly lower boost:

Be careful with the O2 housing. The car was tuned for the boost response your current O2 housing provides. Changing the boost response will require additional tuning for the faster spoolup of a properly working O2 housing. FYI.

I have been looking for whether or not they went out of business since they seemed to vanish but this was posted in a regional forum a few days ago.
Hey Everyone, We just got back from Destin and a much needed lil mini vacation. I've been out of communication lately whilst working/remodeling Linda's house down in Alex city. The cell phone service -Sprint- down there(Alex City) is horrible. So if some of you have called I must have missed you and never got the voice mail either. I also lost all of my phone book #'s when my phone crapped out on me. Now I have to get another phone, thinking about the new Treo Pre. The new EPM shop is coming along but not nearly as quick as I had hoped. Getting all the permits, licenses, and also getting the wiring all finished up has taken tons of my time. We should be good to go fairly soon. I'm almost set here on EvoM getting my Vendor status renewed so EPM will be good to go on the forums. I'll have to try and make the next meetup to catch up with you guys. To be honest I needed a break from the Evo stuff but am now ready to move forward with EPM and take care of some of your projects.
See you guys soon.....

Excellent gains as always Scott.
