I wanted to go to Mason Dixon this past friday. We got a shower about an half hour before the race was about to start. So I didnt go. It has stupid hot and humid. I do plan of going here real soon.

I went previously after the 481 on CBRDs Dyno day. I spun really bad and got a 1.8x sixty goin 11.41 at 126.2. The biggest problem with the pass on the stock block was the 8k rev limiter. I was hitting the 8k limiter in 4th gear about 5 cars before the traps. 1.6 sixty and a 8800 limiter is an easy 10 sec pass but on PUMP not $8 a gallon race gas.

Thanks CBRD for the kind words about the car! I plan to come up soon to get a lil Dyno time for me to set up a 100 oct tune.

BR Race IC getting ordered next paycheck!!

David, do the BF 272s have any lift-off stalling issues with the stock ECU? Do they cause any issues that might cause a car to fail an OBD-II emissions test (plug-in test, not an actual sniffer). For example, do you need to disable any emissions routines in the ROM to avoid chronic CELs (p0300, etc)? I'm tempted by them for my FP Red setup (currently on Comp 280s), but unsure about how friendly they are to the stock ECU, even given current know-how.

Thanks,
Rich

evo8ltw, I've tuned a couple of sets of the BF272's so far on the stock ECU with no issues that you have asked about. The more the ROM you are using is modified the better off you are going to be. You can scale the MAF, bump the idle, move the AFR's around all of which help to get the idle better. The PO300 code can be turned off too. The "problem" is getting the ROM you are using set up with all the patches and such to do it all. It takes a substantial amount of time to put it all together. In your case, 2004, it should be the same ROM I have built for my car.

Wow, I wish people flashed dsm ecus more like this. Seems like a very effective way to go. Although dsmlink isn't bad either.

If you started tuning stock ECU w/ MAF-T I'd love you long time Dave. We have stock ECU cars from 420 to 502 to 762 WHP here in North Carolina. We'd love to bring you down to EPIC Motorsports' AWD Mustang to make some good numbers!

I'd guess that if you have the MAF patched in and calibrated that from there the tuning wouldn't be any problems. I don't do any travelling tunes though, sorry. You'll have to make the haul to Ohio. Make it a multi-purpose trip and come up for the shootout and get a tune at the same time!

PLEASE get this car to a track and run some 10's with it. I need to get a 10 second stock ECU list compiled!
I plan on making this list once I throw a RED in. I think I gave a good chance at it. The car certianly has all the right parts Nice power on the stock ECU!

I have to say that I think my car drives great for all the mods it has. I mean it doesnt drive like stock but ANY car with a high clamp PP and big cams never will regardless what people say. Dont get my wrong. I think the drivability of my car is very good. Just not like stock. But then again it wasnt before the BF272s etc.

I sold my AMS street IC Yesterday and my new BR race core is on the way! I cant wait to get it back on and get my car off my Dads lift!

After its back together I plan to go to Mason Dixon dragway asoon as we get a good day I can make it out there! BR FTW

Glad you were able to get a quick sale whitey, good luck at the track! I'm hoping you run 10's.
