guess you're not selling the car then. good choice

A quick update. Last night I realized, on a 2nd and 3rd gear pull, once at full boost I hear a high-pitched whistle/whirling noise.. It sounds a lot like the dv is leaking. I'm waiting for a proper boost gauge, and if I had a tactrix cable and 3bar gm map sensor I could log boost, but.. I don't.

I don't particularly want to crush my stock valve, but I might give it a shot. Otherwise I'll pick up a forge or something along those lines.. I just don't want to give up the driveability of the stock valve, but on the other hand, I want to be able to run my 350whp every day.. I turned the boost down a bit and the noise is gone, which basicaly concludes it's the dv leaking.

I actually tried selling it. It was on ebay and didnt sell. I had one guy offer me 15k for it and another guy wanted to trade a 98 civic hatch with a full 35r setup running "515WHP" straight up. I said no clearly..... and 15k is much less then what its worth for me to sell it Id rather keep it for that amount.

As far as your DV leaking thats interesting because I have just put my stock VIII DV back on my car and heard that same noise last night while logging. I do have the JDM map sensor and have boost in my logs. Im trying to tune at 22.5 to 23psi peak and it still seemed to hold 20 or 19 pounds all the way up...sort of.

Anyway what im getting at is I have the Forge valve off my car down here in CT, and I happen to be looking for a IX MR diverter valve . So if you plan on going that route instead of getting a new one ive got this one wich is in fine condition. Im also pretty sure that with some digging i can find the springs and shims that came with it for higher boost levels. (its polished btw not the black one). And of course id be happy to take your IX DV off your hands.

I dont know if your still here in CT but if you want to try to swap to the Forge just to see if it is indeed your DV leaking i have no problem with that. Its just sitting on my kitchen table right now

AMS's dyno reads really low. Or so they say, anyway.

I wouldn't feel too bad though. I have similar mods (minus LICP and intake) and only put down 290 on AMS's dyno.

I'm back home in Long Island now, otherwise that would have been a good plan. But this time around I'm keeping all my stock parts, it's fun, I'm starting to build a nice collection.
If you're using the stock plastic valve, that thing begins to leak past 19psi, so you should definitely pick up a IX valve.
as far as the 35r civic.... haha

I'll take the dv out later this week and make a pressure fitting for it to hook up to my compressor, then I can find out for sure.

Nice graph and pretty good power, did be afraid have ivey or someone good crush the blowoff valve cause it has to be done right for it to work enjoy the new power.

I've gotten nothing but compliments from evo owners and non-owners alike.. The car sounds unlike most evo's I've ever heard, I love it. Definitely loud from the outside, but inside isn't too bad inside.. Up until 2 days ago I was fine with the noise level, but I just installed the intake and I'm ready to throw the stock airbox back on -- i hate that noise.
I'll try to grab some vids for you later tonight if it stops raining

I hate all of this "dyno guessing" crap. I want to know how much power my car would make as if it came from mitsubishi exactly in the form it is now. Manufacturers Advertised Horsepower.

dyno's are meant as tools for tuning, not an end all power figure. your trap speeds will be a much better test of how much power you're making.
numbers are just numbers. The only way to gauge the performance of different cars is either at the track or on the SAME dyno.

After doing a ton of stock evo 9s as they roll off the showroom floor, 255-265 wheel hp and around 260-270 ftlb MAX from a stock car.

I have the dynojet 424X and pretty much all the dynojets read the same.
