PS dyno numbers are just that. Dyno numbers. Log the car, if it doesnt have more then intermittent 2 or 3 counts of knock then the car is tuned well more then likely unless ur running an insane amount of timing etc.

Just to assume that every tuner always de-tunes every car is rediculous. Maybe on cars running big power on stock block, but stock turbo 24 psi.... I doubt it.

For whats its worth every time my car was been on a dynojet it it was leaner and hit lower loads cells then it did on the street prior to going on to it.

The road checkup after a dyno tune is a good idea IMHO. My car has been on 2 MDs and 3 Dynojets. The car always run smoother on the MD then DJs especially when starting from a low rpm. Very close to the street when on a PROPERLY SET UP Mustang dyno.

a DJ loads the car too much at low RPM and not enough at high RPMs it seems to me after me expierences with both and the road with evoscan.
+1

but the last time i was on a Dynojet it was lower load down low @ peak vs the road 260 load DJ vs 290 load road

So I'm supposed to understand the builder and tuner letting me my car leave the shop with 480 stock block and pump gas is a safe business practice? The tuner and builder use this as a good practice to ensure the customer doesn't grenade the car and come back all pissed off. I would have loved to have 480 on stock block and pump gas. But 469 was better than what I expected on pump gas. As long as I'm happy with the tune and I have datalogged it and I have 0 counts of knock so I think my tuner did a great job.

And in the OP's case I think Al did a fair job with the mods he was given. I think there is possible 20 more hp to be made but that's about it. But is the 20hp worth the op's car being unreliable?

+1 if you want 500whp then you should build the motor for it. all these people rocking stock block you never know when it could blow on you. safe thing is to do what your tuner says you pay him for just that to tune the the car and also give you advice on what to do to get more or why he turned it down. Play it safe if you want to go all out plan on doing a shortblock rebuild then you can play with no worries

I agree with you 100%. In my case I was told before I even dropped your car off that they could have me leave The Shop with 500 but they don't trust me not to blow the car up. Considering my last car I blew up the car 4 times before I got the evo I have learned to leave that all out hp for the track. Next year I plan on building to motor and doing race gas & meth combo. But for now the car is my DD so I have to play it safe.

With the 388awhp that you mentioned before.

I am with dballz. Daily driven cars is better to run them with a safety cushion. Leave the full boost for the track
