Evo 9 + FPred + BlaqOps + E85

2009 Evo 9 MR

Mods:

TBE
MilSpec HiFlow cat
Tubular 02 housing
FPred (BlaqOps porting)
OEM BlaqOps ported intake manifold
OEM BlaqOps ported exhaust manifold
FIC BlueMax 1450cc injectors
BlaqOps progressive double pumper (Maf Based)
Injen Upper/Lower ic pipes
Perrin foam open filter
Cosworth M2 Mivec cams
ARP head studs
Aftermarket FMIC
GM 3 port boost solenoid using ECU boost control
Tephra stock ECU map switching (91oct to E85)

This car is a test bed for BlaqOps products, mainly the new progressive double pumper they are bringing to the market. On this car it is run based off the MAF and is tunable based on the Hz curve. Worked out very well once we got the flow vs Hz dialed in. Think progressive Meth injection but with your fuel system.

This day was just to make sure everything was working correctly. The double pumper performed great. We are looking to push the fuel system a little bit more on this car once we iron out some other things unrelated to the actual fuel. Also expect to see this double pumper system on a bit more max effort build here soon (PT6262, built motor, E85 biggie boost).

Gains with E85 on this car over 91 oct: (24psi vs 28psi)

+90whp / +100wtq

91 oct curves (dotted) vs E85 curves (solid):

For the people on the fence, E85 vs Meth: (E85 @ 28psi, Meth @ 30psi)

Intresting double pumper concept. I am surprised to see the e-85 make so much more power then meth though.. Was timing around the same? What was the meth mixture and how much? Either way thanks for posting, car looks very strong

Timing was less with meth inj if I recall correctly. From 5500 rpm the boost was exactly the same on both. I brought the boost on more gradual this time to give the 6spd a little more time before self destructing. I believe meth mix was 50/50 but I could be mistaken, it was last year.

I have to ask, are you using roll speed for rpm cal. or a pickup? Your comparisons are always dead on with graphs from who knows how long ago I use 2 byte rpm but I can never seem to get it as consistant as you lol

A year later and no parts changes other than the E85 conversion? An extra 40whp seems way excessive over alky, unless the gas was really really really crappy.

Ultimately, decent power and looks like a great fuel pump product

No power changes other than fuel. The car cleaned up a bit with the new fuel system. Before it was a bit touchy knock wise. Perhaps one of his injectors where off flow before or something else.

I don't think 30 whp or so gains over meth is excessive from what I have seen. So far E85 has gained over pretty much every fuel it's been up against on our dyno. 91 / 93 / 100 / MS109 / 110 / C16 / Alky injection

That may be correct but I'm not sure that E85 could compare to Q16w/100% meth. I may be wrong but I also have not seen a comparison between the two.

Nice nunbers

Well that is why I didn't list Q16 .
