Top Level builds another 700hp "Average Joe" Evo
Some of you may remember last year's refrence to the "average Joe" evo owner. It seems this year the average evo owner is much more informed and willing to go to the extreme with parts selection. As you may or may not have seen on youtube, Toplevel's clients are racers not dyno queens, but I wanted to take a moment to share some data with you guys from a simple selection of parts.
Mods list;
Drop-in pistons and rods.
Cosworth M2's
Magnus intake manni
75mm tb
Precision 6262
Tial 44mm wastegate (18psi spring)
hks dli
Stock head with supertech springs/retainers
Toplevel custom exhaust manifold
Toplevel fuel system with PTE 1000's
Toplevel Intercooler pipes
Buschur intercooler
E-spec tuned
The idea here is that the selection of parts work very well together. Lots of room for improvement, but a great foundation for a 9 sec pass.
I'll post a better scanned copy of the sheet by tommorrow, but a cellphone pic will get the main point across....
707hp and 517tq with boost dropping off to 37-38psi at redline .....

Numbers are uncorrected and I always use 0 smoothing to tune. 61deg and 29^ humidity.
I want to go a bit farther since I had access to some great data.
First off--- Damn!! I really believe the "hype" about the Buschur core. Keep in mind that the air filter is located between the radiator and the tranny-- sucking in air from the hottest spot in the engine bay. Manifold temps in the 900 area and coolent temps in the high 180's. The Buschur core really worked some magic....

These results were consistant with over an hour on the dyno, banging on it from pull to pull. I don't recall ever seeing air temps rise more than 3deg!!
The 6262 is an awesome snail. On pump gas 400hp at 18psi,,, 523hp at 24psi..
Crossed over to c-16 (customer requested 2 maps) 600 at 29psi, 650 at 34psi, and over 700 with the hallman boost controller 'locked off'.
Afr's were in check, but duty cycle climbed to 105%. The wastegate spring kept us from touching the expected 750 range by limiting boost, but the injectors may have been an impedence at that point. Perhaps q-16 or vp would have given enough elevation to the fuel at hand.
The magnus manni works like a charm. I find myself adding more fuel at lower rpms vs other brand name intake manni's. This is a great sign. Anytime you have to add fuel to keep afr's in check it usually means you are fllowing more air. More air= more hp.
Giving credit where credit's due, Mike from AWD has really convinced us all of what this turbo is capable of. I look forward to seeing this car return ready to push 45psi+. At that point, we'll focus more at raising the lower rpm hp and dialing in the car for a more responsive experience.

This year I've been at 620awhp on pump 93 octane so far so good and no broken parts

Truth is, Sharkbite and many others can daily drive these street monsters. Full a/c powersteering etc should not need to be comprimised.
We created a pumpmap due to the cost of running c-16 daily and e85 is still scarce in some parts of NY.
What else can you buy and drive around with 4 doors, full power accesories, a/c, awd and 700hp? Maybe a bugatti? I'll save the other $970,000 for a dream home.
Yeah Q16 here is $14.50 a gallon I'm not sure what C16 is running. I'm sure $13.50 a gallon or around there.
I only plan to run 550-600whp on 93 daily and 700whp on Q16 at the track. I love the fact that you can keep a/c.
I had to delete a/c, p/s, CC, I also deleted EGR, EVAP.. It was ok for the first 6 months then I really started getting tired of it. No a/c during the summer sucked.
Again, very impressive. Can't wait to get mine and to this point..

Holy. I have been waiting to see some other big 6262 numbers come up. Mike has it down pat, but its nice to see that others are playing with it. Lucas is running the FS635 which has the same compressor? He is thinking about going full 6262 though depending on where he runs out on the FS635.
