The Shop CT Evo8 FP Black DD Build

We just finished up my SSL Evo8 daily driver / baby hauler at The Shop, which was supposed to stop at stage 2 last december, but we all know how that goes. The guys at the shop got this thing built so quick, I hardly had any time with out it. I live a few hours away in MA so Jimmy made sure we got most of the work done in a few day trips to CT, even if him, JR, and the guys had to stay til 11pm -- There aren't many shops who will do this for you.

Block assembly by Jimmy himself:
Wiseco HD Pistons
Manley TurboTuff Rods
AMS Balance Shaft removal
ACL bearings
Stock Crank
Fresh Oil + Water Pump Etc. Etc..

Turbotrix Built Head:
Supertech Dual Spring Valvetrain
Porting including combustion chambers
Kelford 272's
ARP Head Studs
Cosworth headgasket
Etc.

FP Black w/ FP supplied silicone intake and big K&N filter
ETS 4" Intercooler (I thought this fit with the stock bumper beam )
Whatever was laying around for intercooler pipes after a last minute Buschur mini battery install. (I think 2.5")
ETS 1.25" Stock flange header
SINGLE Walbro pump
Precision 1000cc Injectors
Magnus cast v5 intake manifold
Boomba Throttle body
Titek unmodded o2 housing (2.75")
Titek DP
Fujitsubo RM01A Catback (Restrictive - 2 kneckdowns <3")
HKS Ignition Box
Speed Density (stock ecu w/ tephra) - Omni 4 Bar and GM temp sensors
Crushed Evo 9 BPV
Mishimoto Radiator
Grimmspeed EBC
JUNIOR Tune

Other:
KW V3 Coilovers - best coils for street/track IMO
Cusco camber plates
Buschur Billet Rear diff bushings - soon to be swapped with energy suspension for DD purposes
Volk RE30 Wheels 18x9" +35 with Rays lugs and centercaps
Dentsport Garage Rolled Fenders
Shep Stage 3 T-case with Quaife center diff
STRI boost and oil pressure gauges
AEM Wideband
Evo 9 front bumper w/ carbon lip
Exedy Twin HD Clutch

Soon to be installed:
Custom 2.75+" IC pipes
Mod Titek o2 to true 3"
Shep trans with evo 9 1st and 5th + 4.11 Final Drive
Carbon Trunk
JDM Evo 9 Rear bumper w/ jdm beam

I'm amazed how much we got out of this setup on pump 93 even with the restrictions it has: the IC pipes could be bigger, the exhaust isn't exactly ideal for making power. It sounds like stock until you go WOT.

The speed density tune made this thing as close to stock driving as you can get with a build of this power level. This thing is without a doubt very driveable. No problems in rush hour or anything.

Do note, any kind of boost leaks and SD drives like garbage. If you aren't getting results like these, first thing you should do is run a boost leak test. I found this out after a line popped off the back of my manifold.

Tune was at 29-30 psi I believe, with a little left on the table for reliability.

Sorry, my mistake on the IMG code, graph is up.

You misread, the 4.11 is coming soon . I'll let you know what I think as soon as its in. I wanted to run the car in the 1/4 before installing so we can see the difference.

Very nice. 350wtq @ 4800 is pretty good for a 2.0

That thing looks like fun to drive. Hats off to junior once again.

I had the forge bpv recirc on there and it surged really bad. I put the crushed stocker back on and they played with the wgdc a bit and now you really have to try to get it to surge. It now almost drives like stock.

Why is this thread moved into Freddys thread? Something wrong with evom or are the mods just messing around?
