CBRD TA car, turbo testing...

We made some changes over the winter, to get some reliability out of our TA car..

A new contract with OS Giken for clutch development... some differential work from GSC... and JRZ came on board as a sponsor to give us at track support for testing and events..

We also changed some small bits, double pumper (BR), wider wheels 10.5's, alterations to the brembo 4 wheel big brake setup... and some other bits.. like losing another... well, almost 200 lbs by the time we are done..

Last year we ran 3 track days entirely on pump gas... making 520-530whp and 420-440wtq on the 33R at only 25psi...

Today we decided to try a smaller .63 Vband housing on the 33R, to see what happened.... well, here is what happened, we lost about 20/20 and really didnt pick up ANY spool....

so then, Mark our tech, decided to lend his birthday present (that myself, blouch turbo, george and joe our good clients got for him) a Billet 35R in a .82 Tial housing...

same map, picked up decent power (note the boost jumped up a little)

She made 575whp and 471wtq at 29psi..... not bad for straight pump!!

it lost MINIMAL spool up....

The TAK33RB is a nicer package in the 26psi level, as it still makes 440wtq... the 35R at 26psi drops a little bit of torque, but over 28psi still picks up power per psi.. where as the 33R seems to level off around 29-30..

the 35R also uses a larger turbine, therefor having less back pressure...

anyway,

here is the chart...

More pics coming later!!

Cheers

CB

PS thanks to charlie (kreoinic) for helping me do some changes utilizing the AEM which im not quite as familiar with, but it was no big dealio! The originally tuning on the TS T4 kit was done by david b, and that was a nice base to start with.

Is the HP scaling not the same as the torque scaling or something?

HP is always higher then torque in that chart???

I normally put whp on one side wtq on the other, this time I used boost on one so the hp scaling may not be the sane as torque!! Oops, I can reprint and scan!!
