Thats why we did two pulls back to back after the install and took the lowest one.

Did the car tested have aftermarket rotors on it already? Meaning not OEM rotors. Reason I ask is because when I got some of these 4-5 yrs ago I weighed everything on a postal scale and my stockers weighed 23lbs for the front and around 16lbs on the rear. Your weights for the Baers seem right on with what I found though.

wow that is some good information and testing. I never would have thought lighter rotors would free up horsepower and torque but it makes perfect sense why. i guess i never really thought about it. Thanks for sharing this info!

This makes me happy that I have AMS brakes all the way around.

I have three sets of these ready to ship. They cost 1100 shipped for all 4.

Thanks

gains would be even bigger if the stock rotors had been new. stock front weigh 20.5, rear are 15.5lbs.

in the end this is a pricey mod for 7 whp. money is much better spent on nice light weight wheels and tires.

Agreed. OTOH, if one already invested in lighter wheels and tires, the rotors are an excellent upgrade. We were able to reduce the rotational mass on my Evo by ~40lbs with Hankook Evos/RPF1s/Baer rotors. The freed-up power is the least of it. The car feels significantly lighter and it's much more fun to toss around. Every aspect of performance is improved. Better yet, a reduction in rotational mass makes life easier for the car, itself, generating an expansive performance envelope while putting less stress on the machine. Win-win.

thats crazy. Do you think you can do a test by changing the wheel and tires from a heavy wheel and tire combo to a lighter set?

It would be a really interesting test , I have 18x9.5 wheels on my car with some 245/40/18 tires, I am thinking on going to 17x7 the combo will save me 70lbs of rotational weight .

According to your test that would be around 70whp , I guess my traps will go up from 121mph to 128mph .

Thanks, great test .

Just got back from the Adirondacks! Put a good 700 miles down on these rotors (and not to mention my freshly tuned AEM EMS V2!!)
