Pretty accurate. Has been tested to read with 1-3% of a REAL dynojet.

I find that most cars on VD will need anywhere from 3-10 smoothing.

The smoothing in these programs is very different then the smoothing on an actual dyno.

The sample rate is MUCH lower and so is the resolution on the datalog compared to how the dyno measures. Because of this and the fact you are looking at differentials, the error is much greater in the relative change between samples. Without the high amounts of smoothing, the charts are VERY rough.

That said, once you use the smoothing correctly, these programs can produce pretty accurate results.

Jay nice results.

IIRC Mellon came within 3whp from VD - DJ in comparison.

That altitudes a killer. Good tune, definitely more left in it if the owner wanted .

What does the car have to do with anything? its sample rate/laptop related.

If you use 4th gear pulls they will be more accurate because of the added time for more data samples. And need less smoothing.

Somehow I managed to miss this thread about my own car.

Jay did a great job. EVO runs perfect now. I'm very pleased with the tune. I can't even begin to describe the significant improvement in drivability. Link to the back story if you are really bored.

It's actually tuned at 25psi. I was inclined to be a bit conservative. When I first converted to E85 I ran the car for 2 1/2 years at 28psi. Link to original tune thread. I assumed I'd not keep the car that long anyway, as I tend to get tired of cars and trade often.

What with the economy and political climate (no bailout package for EVO owners), I'm going to need to keep this car for a while. Plus the fact that I love the car. So, I need to get as many miles out of this motor as possible, therefore, I decided to dial the boost back on this tune.

I would highly recommend Jay for your tuning needs. He is great to work with. www.BoostedTuning.com

Great numbers on 26psi! Are the injectors maxed out on e85?
