Evo 9 turbo, stock block, bolt ons + 93 pump

Hi guys,

Yesterday I went to the dyno to get a tune with the newly installed 9 turbo since my FP Red died about a month ago. I'm sharing this info with the community, because I know there are some of you guys that still have the stock 2.0, only have pump gas and are looking to install bolt-ons only.

Mods:

Evo 9/Stock block/Turbo on 93oct @ 26psi
ETS FMIC w/pipes
GSC S2 Cams
HKS intake
Perrin TBE
Greddy MBC
Walbro 255
PTE 1000cc

The result was 390whp(uncorrected) 382whp(corrected) on a Dyno Jet. The car feels great. Will post the graph later. Please feel free to share any of your opinions. Thanks

Pretty good #'s for just 26psi on pump.
Looks like you just went ahead and got a new tune? I know you were debating whether to run the stock turbo on the Red's tune until you sent it out to get rebuilt.

Yes that is correct. I mean, I've spend a lot of $$$ on the car and I can't afford the rebuild or the wait time . Therefore I decided to just tune the stock turbo so I can have some fun with it till I get some $$$ to send the red for a rebuild . I did miss the stock turbo's fast response and spool up

Nice power!!!!!

I have and Evo 4 with Evo 9 turbo... Right now I have forged pistons and rods for build my block... With HKS cams (272/264), Methanol, FMIC AMS, how much boost can hold the stock turbo??? And how much WHP/TQ can I get????

Right now the turbo spool 25 psi tappering to 21 psi.

Nice, but a dyno sheet would be better.

Thanks! Man, I can't say much about that since I don't know. I'm sure someone else with more experience can help you out

isn't 26psi a bit high for stock turbo? at that boost level isn't there too much heat for the lil turbo. i hear most tuners recommending 23 at most with pump on stock turbo

I dunno man, but previously I was running 27psi with the stock turbo. I had about 25K on it and no problems. Took it out with 0 shaft play! However, I don't abuse my setup... I mostly do 2nd-3rd gear rolls up to 4th gear and thats it. No 1/4 mile and no auto x. Just some street fun
