Glad I came across this thread, I was really considering stepping down from the .84 to the .64 After seeing the spool on this 2.4 I think ill stick with my .84 on my 2.0

Any thoughts of throwing some higher octane at it to see what kinda numbers it'll make?

Wow this is pretty cool. I tuned a car on 89 trying to get it ready for Cali 91 and noticed it would go to 24psi pretty easy. Anyone else try this without meth injection?

Good power Tom.

Thanks Aaron. This turbo is crazy for making high power with such crappy fuel.

I cant 100% remember the exact , but with the stock evo 8 turbo on this car we couldn't run past 17psi without knock even with only 4-5* at redline.. that gives an idea how weak the fuel is. that may have been a really bad tank of it tho.. he said its normally in between 87 and 89 quality.

the quickest car on the island is 7.5 in 1/8 so i think hes going to take that spot soon. hell i think he could take it without the meth even.. with the meth the car should run 6's.

Good power Tom.
Peak torque seems to be the biggest issue on crap fuel. Above 6000 RPM, the piston seems to be moving fast enough to "out run" any detonation events when the setup is efficient that you can get away with a lot at high RPM.

The fact that boost is creeping up on this setup isn't hurting it either as it is keeping peak torque manageable and letting the airflow make the power.

the meth tune is done and the numbers exceeded his expectations.. they are extremely good numbers for just adding the methanol. ill post them up after every things done.. hes adding a driven innovations intake manifold so the numbers are gonna shoot up even more now. ill show the before & after of that also.

this is also an evo 7

I think he did a great job piecing the car together, all the parts work well which allowed to make nice numbers.
