I will just be glad to be near the end of this long journey. I hope to make some good power and have the car as close to stock as possible.

stupid car is stupid.
tune was going great making awesome power then has a 34 to 46lbs boost spike and popped the head gasket.

Just ordered new gasket from MAP with there head studs.
Going to swap out to a manual boost controller and go back at it later this month.
Made well over 700hp before the damage.

should have waited till i got unbusy to tune it.. boost doesnt just spike from 34 to 46 .. something was clearly done wrong. boost error correction tables are your friend.

went with diirk from awd becaue he is pretty local to me. He was going up 4% each time every thing was going smooth until we got to 34lbs then we hit the spike. I am not sure what caused it my only idea is the controller. Possibly the wastegate although I dont see how.

he did but the spike was quick he let off right when it happened. power went from 675 to almost 800 at that moment.

by then the damage was done. Car still runs I just cant boost over 35 or it leaks.

spike or creep? was it ran on a different gear in that run? are the boost error correction tables all set to 0? (not recommended for the final tune)

sounds like the line came off the wastegate or something of that nature. no problem i understand going to a dyno anyways.. its a little dangerous road tuning 700whp+ on the street. sounds like its turning into a beast tho

was using a ebc(not sure the brand) will switch to mbc( I think that is culprit) no lines came off we checked

it was a spike not creep I will post graphs once I get them sent to me. It was crazy thats for sure.
Car runs allot smoother then before with allot less timing which is always a good thing.

Yes 600 on the streets is crazy 700 or 800 is insane.

I know the car will make good power though just have to figure out the small stuff I guess.

so from what i gather the head only lifts at 35psi? have you removed the valve cover and checked the torque specs on the headstuds? maybe they just need retorqued.....?

I recently had a fray in my signal wire which caused my system to spike. Everything would be fine until about 6000 Rpm then bam straight to the moon. I believe that the frayed wire was giving improper voltage so once it was supposed to reach full current it would freak out because it was not.

Could slowly increasing the fuel cut load prevent the problem?

After the spike we started back at 28lbs and went up slowly we made it to 34lbs and then it spiked again to 39lbs (it leaked again at the spike). going to take it apart next week so not sure what the damage is. We will try to retorque first. It held fine at the 28, 30, and 32lbs pull.

Wont know much until we take it apart.
