I think it's tom's tune and the electronic boost control holding boost 32psi over 7k. A lot of people use MBC where the boost falls off. Not many people that post their results on this specific forum use EBC yet.

Technically I didnt think an EBC can actually hold more up top then a traditional MBC, Rather it will just create that illusion because the low RPM spike wont be as High.
Sorry for the thread HiJack correct me if im wrong.

You would be surprised what an ebc and a good tune can do for boost uptop.

I know how to tune to increase boost up top , I would love to see how an EBC allows to hold more up top.
Unless it has to do with lower shaft speeds in the midrange somehow allowing for more up top , maybe someone can PM me about it so i quit derailing this thread as i would be interested to know how that works ha.

it can and does but there is a point of diminishing returns. more boost doesn't always equal more power. the further you go past the efficiency area of the compressor map the more you increase shaft speeds and heat at the same time. there comes a point where you start losing HP per psi once you reach this pressure limit from the heat increase alone at higher rpm's. i slowly raise the boost and monitor the differences pound for pound.. you cant just throw high boost at these cars without closely monitoring everything thats going on.

theres a balance for everything when tuning, and the tuners most important job is finding that balance to keep the tune safe and the engine healthy.. once you find the perfect balance between everything you will be rewarded with great results in the end everytime.

so to answer your question, yes a 3 port will do more things then a traditional mbc is capable of, but it can also do more harm then good if not tuned properly.

so use with caution and common sense

boost is down to 24-26psi now for the most part.. car is still making close to the 480's hp wise but less tq now. still more power in it, but this is the safer route to go on the stock block since it keeps the torque under control.

wasnt yours making 500wtq+ on a dynojet?

heres where i put him so far

boost plot;

right on. Yea mine was maxed out for what it would do, 35psi on my setup and we didn't do anything to keep the torque down
