MAP EF-series Turbochargers results thread

All the RS's have the same curb weight ie 3175. I just did a lot of behind the scene weight loss techniques.
Removed front bumper support (aka crash beam)
Removed rear bumper support (aka crash beam)
Removed IC sprayer reservoir
Removed spare tire, jack & tools
Removed 35lbs from using TBE (WORKS DP, Buschur TP & Cat-back)
Removed steering column bracket
Missing headliner ( I dont want this to be missing. Trying to find a RS headliner to put in.)
ETS mini battery kit
Enkie RPF-1 17x8
Removed washer fluid reservoir
My RS also has IX seats, steering wheel, carbon dash trim and HVAC trim.

LOL Thats just the track exit , i was going about 5 MPH.
Mine is Shooting for 13.3 in ecuflash , and hovers in the 12.6-12.8 range according to my AEM WB. Are you having better results with slightly richer and more timing?
I dont do as much tuning as you, maybe you know something i dont.

Ive heard both stories , im not sure what to believe on that one though?

Heres what all the service manuals say. Funny thing is I thought the 04 GSR weighed 3262, but the 04 service manual says 3320. But they dont specify if thats the GSR or the GSR w/ SSL. I "think" its the SSL.

White EVOs are the best. Thats why mine is white
Silver is the second best color.
A slightly richer AFR will increase EGTs, which helps spool.

LOL no happy hour for me.
Here is a list of things to help spool and a thread of its discussion.
Top 10 notes for FASTER SPOOL
1) Less timing (Start with stock values during spool, tune from there)
2) Richer AFR (mid 12s during spool to max boost, then taper richer)
3) Hot pre turbo exhaust
4) Port head, manifold, turbo, O2 for more flow
5) Free flowing exhaust
6) BOV leak free
7) Free flowing, low pressure drop, high efficient FMIC
8) Waste gate sealed shut until peak boost is achieved (Higher tension)
9) Shortest intake pipes as possible
10) No boost or vacuum leaks
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ter-spool.html
When using a richer AFR and less timing, the exhaust that comes out still has unburned fuel in it, that proceeds to burn in the exhaust runner, making your EGTs raise and helping to spool the turbo faster.

Ive tried the low timing method , even though it creates more boost earlier , the car feels laggy . And according to VD tests ive done , makes less power in spool versus shooting for high 12 AFRs and maxing timing to the engines desire (however peak torque was made earlier and came on stronger which is undesirable to me on a stock block). That was on the stock turbo though , maybe with this larger one it could change.
The statement that richer AFRs create higher EGTs is false by itself , This is common knowledge, (Only when coupled with very low timing could this be correct) . Decreasing timing would be primarily responsible for the higher EGTs .
I will try the low timing and slightly richer method later this week and post back to back results.
