Kyle's Evo 8 - 628hp - Boostin Performance

This is Kyle's 2003 Evolution 8 GSR. I've known Kyle for a couple of years now, and have helped him go from modifying his Subaru, to building this Evo. We recently installed a Boostin Performance Built 2.3L, JMF external wastegate dump, and a tune of course.

The car is pulling hard at 628hp and 572 lbft, and hes having alot of fun on the street with it. These numbers were seen at 34 psi, tappering to 30psi at redline. I had a lot of fun tuning this car, while the lemur held on in the back

Devin

Mods:
BP Built 2.3L stroker motor
Super Tech dual springs & retainers
Cosworth M2 cams
Rev 3 intake manifold
DNP exhaust manifold
Ported FP Black
JMF external dump
JMF custom intercooler piping
SlowboyRacing FMIC
Grimmspeed BCS
ID 2000's
Buschur Racing Dual pumper
Stock ECU - Speed Density - DevinTuned
E85

Looks like a blast to drive. I have a similar setup making similar numbers and it puts a big grin on my face every time I drive it.

I'm assuming it's because of the power level you're at that the black is tapering off on the top end? Or the 2.3?

The black still has more left in it. It has more to do with the unported head and cams not keeping up with the airflow of the 2.3L.

If this were a drag car I would be worried about the fall off, but for a street car that midrange power is great.

I'll bet she's a blast to drive on the street! Nice build and tune. Your setup is ver very close to the one I am waiting on to be put together. Any plans on taking it to the 1/4? Just curious to see some slips to give me some more motivation!

I doubt he will bring it to the track, he drives it alot on the street though. Before this build he went to the track once. It was his first time at the track (1320) ever and he went 11.0. I was very impressed

We should've included this info on the original post, which has now been updated, but the car was tuned on E85.

You guys are building some beast over there!!! Every car that I've seen you guys build/tune has be amazing! Do you guys have certain specs for building your 2.3L? or do you just go based off the customers request?
