1g bov installed backwards so that boost pressure can not push the valve open only hold it shut. (similar set up to some of the aftermarket valves out there, EG HKS, perrin) of course vacuum still pulls it open so it serves it's purpose perfectly

Honestly one of my favorite cars and my wish list is to find a VR-4 and Starion

Oh man...

The valve will not open if there is more positive pressure still on the back side of the valve. If this made ANY sense at all, you wouldn't be the only one doing it. The only thing that forces that valve open is more pressure on the bottom of the valve vs. the back side of the valve.

Actually this is nothing new...people have been doing that for a long time, just another way of running it. I believe a lot of rally setups are run with the bov reversed. I have run mine reversed before. It serves the same purpose except like previously stated, that it stays shut and works as a pull setup instead of push.

I just don't see how this would possibly work correctly.

Why not install it correctly? That sounds like a whole lot of something. If its leaking at his power level, somethings wrong with it.

valve does not leak and there is currently nothing wrong with it installed the way i prefer to prevent ANY boost from slipping past unless of course the valve/diaphragm see's vacuum to open.

happy Chinese new year everyone

Do you see improvements in the response/air reserve in between quick shifts?

indeed holds boost between shifts to basically any level you would like depending on how you tune it.
