AMS GT30 kit on Pumpgas-- 470+hp

With all the talk lately of what gt30 series turbos are capable of, I thought I would share one of our customer's results.

Mods list;;
AMS gt30 turbo kit (Turbo revised by Precision)
GSC S2 cams
1000cc injectors
ETS intercooler and intercooler pipes
E-Spec tuned ECU -- Still on the maf!
93 octane only at a mild 25psi

Tach signal dropped on the final pull, but this graph gives you an idea of the turbo's response.... Flooring the car AFTER 3,000rpm, we saw 18-19psi around 4100 -- Full boost was between 4300-4500 rpm.

Nice response, what do you think the same setup would net if tuned for 98 octane and has the stock block setup given you any trouble at this hp?

On a higher octane we would have had no issue going to 30psi and over 500hp--- My line for a 'safe' tune on a stock block is 400tq.

The second graph (in rpm) graph only goes to 4200rpm--- peak tq was a few rpm later,,,,, This car easily made 360-380tq.

out perform in what way. 50 trim will spool a few hundred rpm faster but 30r will make more power than a 50 trim

That's a loaded question since not all 'gt30's are created equal. The fp unit will both outspool and out muscle most 50trims. Keep in mind a 50 trim is an older design and is behind in a few years of wheel design/science.

Can you elaborate a bit on the turbo used here? 1st post says "turbo revised by Precision". What all was done to make it different than a regular GT3076?
Thanks.

This turbo was modified to flow like an hta3076 or garret gtx30 -- Your best bet is to either contact Precision or FP directly and get the information directly from the source.

Geeze. This thing made more than most 3563 stock block configurations make on 25lbs.

Just been busy brother. Hope all is well with you up there. Give me a call to catch up.

O nice results from somewhat of a prehistoric turbo lol. Nice work on the keyboard and parts selection to get results with this old school as most do with the "new" school stuff
I reread it about sending it to PTE. Regardless nice curve for the small frame. Good job dude

There is No Way a standard wheeled 30r will flow the same as a GTX the 30r has 6 blades compaired to 11 blades of a GTX and a HTA only refrences the Houseing for assistance against Compressor Surge..... I agree that a FP unit will most likely out do a standard 50 trim. The only way the Precision turbo will come close to the GTX is if it has the CEA tech in it.

The same time it took you to type that post, you could have contacted Precision for the info.
