Got Numbersss

Hey fellas.

Picked up a VIII in December. had a bit of work done to it but still felt like a single cam honda. Couldnt have that. It only had UICP/Intake and Catback on it already. So I went ahead and bought a 3" downpipe, Toxic Fab Manifold, Boost Controller, Rims, and Lowering Springs.

I had ran into issues with the install off the parts so I took it to Moore automotive for the fix and installs, and figured Id get tuned while I was at it.

I live in NoVA, been here for a bit of time and found more when I had my 08 Civic, and when I went by there they always had Evos around so without research I took it there.

After work i went there to find Chris from Moore on the dyno. He called me over to let me know there was an issue and he couldnt get me to where I wanted without buying a boost controller (which I didnt have at the time). While watching how much I was spending, he cut me a deal. Long story short I ended up being there till 8pm, they closed at 5!

Chris stayed after hours to make sure the tune was right and powerful. I left there happier than I have been in a long time. The staff there were all laid back, very nice, very very informative and knowledgeable about Evos. Chris couldve cut it off at 5 and sent me packing but he didnt. I cant say enough about these guys. I will for sure be back very soon for more HP after some parts are added. They did everything I expected out of a trusted shop and more. Prices were very good for everything I got from them that day, and I can promise I wouldve never got that anywhere else locally.

I ended up getting out of there with:

Stock 8 turbo and housing
Stock Fuel Pump
Toxic Fab Manifold,
Egay full exhaust
Stock intercooler
UICP/Intake
Boost Controller

Made 280HP/269TQ!!

Thanks again guys!!!!

Did you get a dyno sheet that you can show us? Or baseline #'s to compare to? Trying to get a feel for what kind of dyno & what gains you achieved with these mods. I just picked up a 2003 evo myself so I am very excited to see what the car is capable of!!

Thanks for the kind words Jordan! Glad you're happy with it now! Not bad for the first round of mods and only 22psi. I definitely like to take my time with tuning and not just rush it out. With the next round of parts it'll be well over 300.

Wouldnt the money for the manifold have been better spent elsewhere on a car at that level? I find it hard to see the benefit or a tubular manifold on a 289whp car. Did you pick those mods or did your tuner recommend them?

Well I have definately bought mods out of order or different than I might have otherwise if the price is too good to pass up. being poor does that to you!

Thanks guys! Always appreciate the positive feedback!

While I'd always recommend a Toxic Fab (or Full-Race, or ETS) manifold over stock, at this power level it wasn't "needed". But as Rene stated, he got an awesome deal on it, so why not? lol. I recommended a fuel pump, injectors, and an O2 dump for the next round. Gotta work within the customer's budget sometimes
