67/66 powered Evo 9 - Junk Box - 850 HP - Mustang Dyno

We recently had Joey's 2006 Evo 9 "Junk Box" in the shop for some work. The team here at Boostin Performance installed a new Shep rear diff, 67/66 Turbocharger, rebuilt his 8 Leg Quarter Master clutch, and also rebuilt his trans, installing a 4.11 Final drive. We packed up the JunkBox in the trailer, and headed over to the local Mustang Dyno we use on a regular basis. The only change made to the car this year, power wise, was the change from the 67/65 to the 67/66 turbo. Last year on this same dyno, Joey’s car made 777 AWHP. We were on the dyno 3 or so times last year with all 3 time netting us around 775 AWHP - with different cams, boost levels, etc. We were hitting a ceiling we could not get above.

Well....... that’s gone now!! Thanks to the 67/66 turbo, we made 850 AWHP without breaking a sweat. I was shocked it made that power so easily. What a bad *** turbo!! We also use an AEM boost control solenoid for boost control. One thing I noticed i thought was very interesting was that I had to bring the duty cycle down from around 55% down to 40%. This is due to the exhaust backpressure being much less with the 67/66 turbo.
  • The 55% duty cycle gave us 42 psi on the 67/65
  • The 40% duty cycle gave us 44 psi on the 67/66

Mods:

Thanks Everyone for the compliments. Me and Boostin are excited to get the car to the track in a couple weeks. Tomorrow the car goes to the chassis shop for the 10 point cage and shute mount. I will post pics up soon of the progress. Stay tuned for more! Thanks to Boostin for building and tuning one bad A** Evo
