Those numbers are perfect for the set up... the reason the boost is tapering down to 20 psi is because the turbo is out of steam and can not keep up.

That is actually pretty good for the mods, on BR's dyno.

Boost falls of to much at redline.Next time get a hp actuator and a grimmspeed 3 port, you'll hold 24 till redline.Your turbo is not out of steam at that power level and boost levels by the way fyi.

Not bad #s at all! I didn't see anything in this thread about you doing a boost leak test before going to BR or before they put it on the dyno? It's the stock turbo & WGA so boost is gonna drop a decent amount by redline no matter what...

Yes he did a boost leak test he even says that he corrected the trottle body shaft seals and made sure he had a leak free system.

You can also do that with a good mbc and the factory actuator, you don't absolutely need a 3port and an aftermarket actuator to accomplish that,i was holding 24-26 on a similar set up with a Forge mbc and stock Evo 9 actuator when i put down 404.I guess what he meant by out of steam is that the turbo can't keep up with the flow of the engine, something which has been well documented to be true.

98 hp is no joke! I wouldn't complain at all!
Like others have said, his dyno is a heartbreaker. If a final number to brag about is all you're after, go do a pull on a dynojet. You'll be around 330hp, at the very LEAST...

This makes me a bit jealous actually, I really have to get myself an EVO. Nice result, IMHO.

I actually have a GM 3 port but BR doesn't tune with electronic controllers, so we had no choice but to use the MBC.... I will consider retuning it and see if I can match or exceed the current boost profile, but I have to properly log everything first... I have experience tuning, I didn't tune my own evo because... I live so close to BR.

I'm not complaining about my power level, I was asking in reference. Thanks for the confirmations guys

Here's a reference for you. This was my car from the previous owner at Buschurs shop.

Evo 8, stock turbo, stock intercooler, 91oct gas, 21psi.

301hp - 283tq

Thank you for your input, those are good numbers in comparison for 91oct and on an 8 turbo.

My buddy made 300 or so on an 8 with 10.5 hot side and 272 cams and exhaust on pump gas. Ran 12.7. Not too shabby since your stock cams are basically the same as HKS 272.
How does it feel to you?
