Then it rears it's ugly head, and usually not until a hour or so into the tune, and you realized you've wasted a bunch of time.

There's a big difference between having a pro install/work on a car, and a hobbyist (90% of people on forums) performing the work.

I hear it all the time. My car needs tuned it is running bad. I always ask what they changed to make it need retuned and they always say nothing the tune is just off now. Then I tell them the car needs fixed not retuned. People want to blame the tune for everything! My "breaks" are bad and I have an exhaust leak, can you retune it and fix it? Hahaha!

If Ivey tuned this car, he will stand behind his work, period. He knows how to tune, and run a business.

He is a reputable guy and knows what he is doing. When you tune as many cars as he does, and the OP has no dyno plot or real name, it is very hard to track down the issue. It is not fair to drag a tuner through the mud because of speculation. Who knows, this may be settled already.

Just my .02$

^^^^This, most of these shops are willing to fix any issues or help with problems regarding any work or tuning they have done, they wouldnt be around if they didn't back up their products and work....

Thanks. I get on these type of threads because there are people out there who love to start drama. Not pointing any fingers here. I just try to address it asap.

We take our reputation very seriously here. I have learned that a few bad reviews can be costly. We are all trying to do the right thing(well most of us...lol) and we are not only business owners, but enthusiasts first. I just try to keep people stoked about their cars and keep customers happy.

I hope the OP got this ironed out. Sean is a stand up guy, just give him a chance.

Regards,

John

I would think running any type of performance shop is a very thankless business; all you need is one bad transaction and the complaint can go viral so quickly with automotive forums.........especially for shops that specialize in tuning.

I for one can't imagine how tuners like tcompusa, Mellon, English Racing, etc. (sorry if I missed anybody) can remote tune, considering they are basically taking the word of the customer on the condition of the car, the parts on it, and so on.

It just shows you that they are pretty darn good.

With the earliest Evo's being just about 8-9 years old, I can't blame any shop/tuner being very particular about tuning a car.

You guys should see the look on a shop owner's face if I were to bring in a 17 year old car like my Supra .

Guys, always consider that there are always 2 sides to any complaint story we hear.

E-tuners have a disconnect from that which is why tuners sitting in your car will always have an advantage over an E-tunner. But hey I'm stating the obvious right now.
I was only implying customer service and communication.

Go back to the tuner in question and seek a resolution before you start a thread full of speculation. As many have said, there are two sides to a story and starting an argument on Evom with no dynochart or any real facts is just silly.

Clearly the tuner is willing to help.
