Its all about the tune. You can have low HP # and blow your motor with the wrong tune.

I'm trying to see if its practical to have the much on pump. Meaning if the car will last. It sounds like it will with the perfect tune and iat control!

I agree with your statement 100%.. People with improper tunes are a step closer to failure...

It's imperative to get a well tuned car last for any HP, but also keep the torque in check will keep the stock block in good shape. The stock rods are not the thickest and personally I like to see 350-360 tq on our Mustang. There a lot of people going over that but I do not follow the builds and see its actually lasted.

450whp is all about combination. What turbo, what cams, what fuel, whose tuning it, etc.

Honestly as someone pointed out, if its 300whp or 650whp its all about the tune if it will last. Parts are what make it come together though.

Thanks for the input guys. I just want some decent power and to be somewhat practical too. If I spend all this money on a build and it blows up in a couple months I'm going to freak out. I need to take my time and make sure everything i done right including the tune. I'm trying to weigh the parts against horsepower goals too..

I'm going for a 500whp build on my local dyno that power traps 135mph.
I've got the old ams 3076 kit/gsc 1's/built non ported head/built bottom end. How close do you guys think I could get on that setup on pure 91?
Really surprised no one makes a acd pump relocation kit so the air filter can get colder air.

Like the previous statements on how it done and right I have a 03 Evo that just hit 100k with a fp red bb making 477 on pump 93 and I believe in your mod list and tuner make a difference .

Im going to aim for 600whp. I would say go for it and just make sure the tuning is good and its well taken care of.

As everyone has said, the tune is absolutely critical, lower tq for stock motors. I am at 480 on djet for about a year now no issues. THe only issues I had all came from me using "cheap" parts. AFter using very high quality parts, 0 issues. As an example i had a poorly made megan 02, when swapped to toxicfab 02 dump, no issues and ran much better.

I don't think my horsepower goals are too far out there considering the soon to be mods in my sig. The tune should probably even be on the rich side. I'm going to just make sure everything is as dialed in as I can.

I'm at 420 HP and 387 TQ on a mustang dyno corrected. I'm running a 255 pump, 1050 fic's, Kelford 272, ETS mani, map ef4, map open dump O2, STM ic pipes and a recirced synapse bov. My 6 speed decided to fail at 307 HP so I got a shep 5 then went on to 386hp when after a few launches or so at the track my tcase follow the 6 speed so I had tre stg2 rebuild it for me with quaife LSD diff. Tuned by force-fed performance in Fayetteville, NC no eng issues yet. I have full faith in my tuner.
