Evo 8 FP71HTA results 93 octane

Here are my mods

Vehicle Weight 3050 without driver
Built Manley 9.5 compression
Stage 1 head port
71HTA w/ 84mm cover and FP 19 psi wastegate - Running 28lbs
Prosport manual boost controller
880cc PTE Injectors

HKS 272 cams
Crower springs and retainers

Kinetic intercooler & LICP
Buschur UICP
JMF o2 dump
3in Turbo back exhaust

Tokimoto Header
Fast Go Bits dual port BOV full recirculate

FP Intake
Spoolin Up COP
Koyo Half Size radiator – FAL shrouded Fan

STM oil cooler
NGK BPR7ES Plugs gapped a .025
EGR delete
20-50 brad penn oil

My numbers via virtual dyno were 389 hp/350 tq 32 psi and my AFR's are around 11.1 with zero knock ripping from first all the way to the top of fourth

Some local street tuner tuned me, but has a 700hp evo himself that he tunes.

To me it seems a little low with all the money I've dropped in this damn thing. I was hoping for 420ish

I guess my cams is whats holding me back. I will post the virtual dyno graph as soon as I get it.

So the tuner told me we hit 389/350 aat 32 psi. To keep everything safe we turned it down to 28psi with the colder weather coming up. here are the real numbers. I'm super disappointed now. Gonna do boost leak test and exhaust leak test to see whats up.

It is low.
Did you use the dynojet correction factor? 389 on a mustang is pretty good for a 71hta.
Do you know how he tuned the timing map on 93? (peak and high rpm)
Did you test for boost leaks?

11.1, it means that you are seeing from 10.9 to 11.3 right? There is some horses left in that AFR... I'd tune for 11.4-5, there is no need to go lower than that on 93, unless your chasing knock.

I did a boost leak test with the stock turbo, but of course when I switched out to the 71HTA with larger comp cover my boost leak tester doesn't fit on anymore. But i did one before the straight up turbo install

I will ask about the dynojet correction factor - he did say he doesn't like to give anyone he tunes big numbers. So I guess he has the virtual dyno in heartbreaker mode haha

Timing maps I will get from him. He's supposed to send me everything.

So when I WOT the car in 3rd the afrs start around 11.6-.7 @ 5K rpms and works its way down to 11.1 at 7K rpms

As for the boost my peak hp is around 6200-6300 rpms and tapers down 2 psi by 7K rpms

He told me to check again for boost leaks and exhaust leaks. I just did brand new gaskets all the way around the exhaust. I did take my header off and reused the same gasket, but only had 2K miles on that gasket. I've tried the seafoam method and did't see any leaks. Maybe a full leak test by a shop is in order. But now to fab up a boost leak tester for the bigger FP compressor housing.

Those numbers are very low, even less than my car with stock 9 turbo at 26psi.

just purchased a leak tester that is designed for the fp turbo's.

The car did put down 340 on the stock 8 turbo via mustang dyno in tallahassee. That was 27lbs and with way less mods, but the car feels way faster now than before.

Seriously I could probably gain some hp with some kelford cams or s2/s3 cams. 15-20 hp?

I gained 40whp going from hks 264/272 to the kelfords, many others have had similar results. Was more timing tolerant too. Do it up!

Graph added and my numbers are lower then expected. The 389/350 was at 32psi

This run was at 28psi

wayy rich, and laggier than my full setup. What kind of boost are you holding out the top end? You may think about an ecu boost setup

Now he wasn't able to get his computer to read my lc-1. So could this evo scan program still read AFRs? He pretty much tuned for knock and not AFR's. Thats what he told me...
