BoostedWRX's 628whp FP Black LR2.4
Jeremy has probably the single cleanest Evo IX MR I have seen in person. It might be a high mile car in comparison to the one Dave posted about but at 13,000 miles this is still pretty new.

In the last 3 years or so its only seen 2,000 miles, most of the time getting the engine bay detail and the overall appearance to Jeremy's standards. The craving for power was not left off because of the "show" car status. Jeremy wanted it to be as much GO as SHOW.
So we helped out.
Mods-
ER 9:1 LR2.4
ER Bushmaster EVO IX Race Head
Forced Performance DBB Black
GSC S3 camshafts
GSC valvesprings/ti retainers
FIC 2150cc injectors
Magnus V5 Intake manifold
Competition stage 2 clutch kit w/ street disc
Garrett 3.8" FMIC core with ETS piping
Buschur Racing double pumper fuel system
Buschur Racing Race exhaust
MAP O2 dump
Omnipower 4 bar
ER SD intake
ER SD tune
Brand new 5 speed swap

Originally Jeremy had purchased a head from "Brand X" that we had initially installed. We looked at the head and had noticed a few things we werent crazy about but installed it anyway, the head had been decked to the service limit button, looked to be overported on the exhaust, and had some things we have found dont work. We wanted to give it a test though.
First trip out on the dyno the car was definitely down on power from where it should have been. Normally at 29psi we see well over 600whp on this combo but for some reason all we could get out of it was 576whp.

Realising only after the fact that it had been surfaced so much, we degreed the cams back in and tried again, trying to give it the fairest test possible. AFRs were the same, Timing was the same, MIVEC was unaltered.

After getting the cam timing where it need we obviously had turned the boost up but it wasnt making the power per pound it should. We have done 670whp on 32psi in JohnnyTSI's car, so we knew something was wrong. Knock voltage was high and the car just didnt give me the "happy" feel.
About this time it was decided to port the stock cylinder head Jeremy owned and do a test. As we pulled it apart one issue became very clear very quick, the exhaust was overported and had cracked. I have seen 1 and 4 crack before but somehow this was #3.
That got sent off to the machine shop to see if it was repairable after welding and we got to work on the new head.
FFWD to this afternoon and this is the final comparison-

The Brand X head also had some really weird valve grind done that wasnt even fully seating after close inspection by our machine shop. It's all salvagable and can be repaired/ported, but unfortunately for Jeremy he discovered that not all ported heads are created equal and ended up paying twice. The Bushmaster will be able give it a thorough fix when it comes back to help Jeremy recoup the investment in our cylinder head.
Before anyone asks, the graph is choppy because all the pulls were done in 4th gear. The engine responds so fast I was seeing some surge which caused that notch down low.

Definitely have seen some weird port jobs over the years come through here. Response on this car is insane, too bad its not dry out right now because I think it can/will light them up in the dry.
Home with no tickets is always a win
The insta-torque on the 2.4 vs the 2.0 was noticeable right off the bat. Taking a 35mph corner in 5th, what? On the freeway I barely tap the gas, the car goes right into boost, it's amazing to me how much more responsive it is. I didn't get to do much WOT but the little I did scared the hsit out of me, in a good way of course
When it's dry I'll take it out and violate it for a while.
Aaron, Jeff, TJ, Jake, Myles, Luke and the rest of the gang thank you for busting *** on my car and treating it like I would. Expectations = Exceeded

Next mod for Jeremy, post XMAS, is a 3 port so we can ramp the boost out the top without a huge spike below. I agree that there is definitely more in it. We compared it to JohnnyTSi's car that made 680 at 32 but holds 30+ at peak power vs the 27ish Jeremy is seeing.
Unfortunately

he will not lose any of his spool and you'll be able to fine tune the top end. it wouldn't surprise me if this car did 700whp based on what it did so far at 27psi. i know the 2.4 takes less boost to perform, but i bet if you needed it to it could touch 700 as it sits with the addition of the 3 port.
