Hey guys recently just set up my tb. Tanabe downpipe testpipe and a full titanium exhaust from tomei. And just hooked up my gauges. My good friend also a mechanics test drove it and said the car is already tuned..? It's a Evo ix 06 mr. Before all those bolt ons I thought the car was completely stock and a virgin. It's pushing out 22psi rather than the stock which I beleive is 17-18..? And has a two step limiter at 6k rpm, and I beleive is suppose to be at 5000 if stock.. Does anyone have any idea what tune it could be on or how to check? And possible retuning ideas for the future?? Sorry new to an Evo.. Thanks everyone.

Go download evoscan and ecuflash, and purchase a1.3 tatrix cable. Search google for evoscan and it will pop up. Download the rom and take a peek. It seems like the ecu has been modified, best practice is to look yourself and ask on here or take it to a reputable shop that deals with evo's.

i doubt your car is tune because MR comes 22-23psi and my launch control is around 5500-6k same as yours and mines is also an MR

No he is correct. Dead stock the VIIIs they were set at 5000 for launch control...I am an original owner and can guarantee that. I don't remember this changing for the IXs. Boost stock with stock parts is 20ish tapering to 16. The issue is though that he has mods and even without a tune with those mods its possible for boost to get a bit higher than stock. Best bet is to get it checked out.

Were you the original owner for your MR? A lot of these cars were put back to "stock" but an old tune was left on them so if your car "stock" has a 5500-6k launch control someone has tuned that ECU in the past.

only way of knowing is to check the rom and compare it to a stock base map. get a tactrix cable n ecu flash
