Tuning

Hey guys recently just set up my tb. Tanabe downpipe testpipe and a full titanium exhaust from tomei. And just hooked up my gauges. My good friend also a mechanics test drove it and said the car is already tuned..? It's a Evo ix 06 mr. Before all those bolt ons I thought the car was completely stock and a virgin. It's pushing out 22psi rather than the stock which I beleive is 17-18..? And has a two step limiter at 6k rpm, and I beleive is suppose to be at 5000 if stock.. Does anyone have any idea what time it could be on or how to check? And possible retuning ideas for the future?? Sorry new to an Evo.. Thanks everyone.

Well if memory serves me correctly, stock PSI on the 9 turbo is 19 lbs and the 2 step factory is set up at 6K. Usually people will set their 2 step around the 5500 rmp range, now since your car is currently running 22lbs. The previous owner could have simply turned up the boost when they had that Evo.

So can you elaborate on why your friend, the mechanic, says your car is tuned already?

Stock Evos do not have launch control as the setting was way out of the rev range to be usuable. So that alone means the ECU has been touched. A lot of people turn their car back to stock and never reflash the stock map. Best bet is to take it to a good tuner and have them go over the tune. Keep you eye on boost and wideband if you can.
