So I was wondering if I am tuned for 91 Octane, but get my hands on 93 or higher Octane, Would this be safe?

There should be no issues however there will little to be gained in running higher octane fuel on a 91 tune.

Probably the only thing to gain would be the ability to run higher boost huh?

safer then wearing 10 condoms while having sex with a virgin, youll never catch a STD with 93 octane, or E85 for that matter !

let me add, there wont be any gain in power though since your car is tuned for 91. Its like putting race gas in a Nissan Sentra

Running higher octane would only give any gains if you ran a timing map for the high octane fuel.

Duel maps?

I wish, now that I know that 100 octane is available to me, I will put soem of that juice in a can and take it with me to the tuner when I install my CAMS, Head studs, and replace timimg belt in July.

The EVO 8 stock ECU holds two maps right? If so, would I be able to run 91Octane map and 100Octane map at the same time? Or will I have to have a switch such as the ACD button being used to change Maps on the fly?

I already have a 93 Octane Map from Mellon, from when I was in Texas saved on my computer.

Car did run a lot smoother on 100 octane, I can say that. It was real smooth. I am going to run a log on EVOSCAN to see the knock compared to 91. I am just curious. No STD's withh 100 octane
