uvambo's 2.4L EFR 8374 - getting ready for roll racing

There's a big roll race happening in the Seattle area this weekend, so Martin had me bump up the power a bit. The tune is all Aaron@ER's handy work. I just increased boost by a few PSI, and since it was showing 12-12.2:1 AFRs at some spots at the start of the session, I richened AFRs to 11.4-11.7:1 to help keep heat buildup under control. These are the final two pulls. Logged AFRs are about 0.3 pts leaner than on the AEM gauge. I totally dig this setup - 500+ ft-lbs from 5000-7000 rpm, great power from 4500-8300 rpm, and awesome transient response. And it did all this with no more than 34 psi of boost.

UPDATE: As I was looking over the VD plots, I realized that the wrong total vehicle weight was being used. Here is the updated plot. Peak power is now closer to 750 whp according to VD. However, this is not consistent with what it did on ER's dyno jet. I seem to recall it made 743 whp but at higher boost. At any rate, it is a VD plot. Road was very slightly uphill, and there was a light crosswind.

Is this IWG or EWG?
I ask because I'm having trouble holding even 30psi to 9k rpm on my IWG 8374 setup.
Can you also post the relevant mod list? Thx

Thanks again Mychailo .

Black E

It's external gates, two twin mvr's.
It's a very modified Full race kit mostly for fitment. Mods that matter 2.4LR, GSC R2 cams, 8374 (1.05ar), 2150 FIC, ER ported head. Also this is through two mufflers

Yeah I almost regret going with the IWG on my X but I love not having the EWG dump noise.
Mine is making ~650 WHP on a 2.0 at 30psi and I get from what I can tell slighty better response then you, full boost by ~42-4300 rpm.
Congrats, def a killer setup for the street!

Oh BTW, is this on pump,e85?

You can recirculate an external wastegate

You can but in a Evo X is much easier said then done, there's just not that much room to play back there. You would have to take the motor out to install the DP/wastegate tubes properly.

How is transient response compared to your old setup gt3076 would your current setup give up anything in a road race situation?

As I mentioned, the AEM gauge was reading 0.3 pts richer than the logs, and the log shows about 12.8:1 at 4000 rpm, so actual is about 12.5:1. The car felt great in that rpm range, and knock voltage looked good in that range as well. You are right though, it should be dropped down to around 12.0.

Ya id drop it around 11.5-12 but that is up to you. Its not going to hurt anything as is though since its E85.

just giving you ****.

I should have paid more attention to that area, so bring it on.

On a side note, his setup is so fun. Responsiveness is amazing.

Ya it looks like my 2.4 6466 low RPM. I would like to overlay it actually. My car is a little different though, but they both have advantages.

If you don't mind send me over a run to tom@tscomptuned.net i will post the overlay when i loaded my car up early & i will post the differences in the setups.

Then we can see a 2.4 6466 vs a 2.4 8374. I think it would be a good overlay since from 4k to 5k its similar but then mine shoots WAY UP.

But again apples to oranges, im more after just seeing what the low end difference is, since its so close eyeballing it. (MY AFR is f'ed in the log ill overlay though, since it was with the rusty gas tank).
