thank you guys for your feedback. as i thought the numbers are a bit low for what iv got. iv just purchased the tactrix cable & evoscan from tscomp so i am 1 step closer to getting it tuned from Tom. Problem is iv never had a remote tune before so iv got a tone of questions to ask but doesnt reply for a long time otherwise no reply at all he's a busy man I'm sure.

I'm aware there is 2 gull station that sells e85 but there both in Auckland and i think by the hampton downs race track. i however do know you can purchase 200L on Trademe from them for $550 NZD.
A lot of the Evo's and Wrx's travel all the way from Wellington to Taranaki to Dynotech industries over STM now. my car was previously tuned from STM and now tuned from Dynotech. the numbers are good when you compare to others here in NZ. Theres not that many stock block evos in NZ making 300KW on stock block and stock location turbo with 98Ron.

Now i would like to get it tuned from tscomp and hopefully spit out some good figures no tuner here in NZ could do.

Hey mate if you're prepared to travel Brent at dynopower in Tauranga does really good things with evo's. I can't say enough good things about his tune on my friends evo 6 RS. It got 350 kw atw but they retarded the timing for reliability. this is the only mods it has to achieve 325@ 25PSI.. Map EF3, Manifold, waste gate, full exhaust Inc dump, custom intake & air box, intercooler, custom piping, Id1000's, 320lph pump, adj press reg, Hope this helps.

Damn you poor kiwis get robbed at the bowser!

Price of fuel in Oz is the lowest its been in a long time!

The caltex Eflex (E70) is 90c a litre. Probably cheaper now as petrol has dropped a couple of cents a litre again

Completely agree mate. Conversely, they get access to some of the best import mechanics and tuners at a fraction of the price we do.

I am more knowledgeable than you are without a doubt. I've got experience with tons of setups, factory 2.0, 2.3s, 2.4s, factory turbo through 6262s, factory cams and atleast 7 aftermarket brands. You are a fool to think that you are not lugging a 2.0 at 2000rpm with a red. I've tuned more than a few handfuls of evos to know that you don't know as much as you think you do and to know what cams do compared to each other.

Listen, I could argue with you continually on here, but you should learn to read before you post an answer to someone comments. The only fool here is you, try to ask the right questions and behave appropriately if you wish to discuss and learn something, provoking someone or trying to prove reality wrong through the net can only be described as moronic. I have been into motorsport 20 years, I have seen and done setups of not just evos but of other cars also, including bikes, in almost all types of motorsport.

-As for lugging, is the stock turbo lugging a 2.0L at 2000rpm? Is the hks 7460r also lugging?

-Did I say anywhere in posts that camshafts are not compared. I can design a camshaft or have it done to my prescription exactly.

-Never think that you know what someone else knows or not when you have absolutely no relation to that person, nor copying the same comment one has said for you just for the sake of getting back at him. I only said what I said according to the posts you have put up which tell me that you have a lot more to learn.

-I'll make it simple for you, the fp red on my setup spooled and behaved better than a stock turbo, period. Nothing more and nothing else is to this.

As for the term "lugging" you used, it is not a technical term, and if it is not what I assume to be, I would like to know so I would like you to explain what you mean by "lugging".

Here is also something for you or anyone else who is interested on camshaft design to read:

http://www.profblairandassociates.co...0RET%20010.pdf

If there are any questions on the above, I'll do my best to explain.

On E85 and an upgraded turbo you can definitely be making a lot more power...

Funny enough, I live in NZ and told my friend to avoid upgrading his evo 9 turbo to reach a goal of 270atw kw (360whp) on 98 Ron (US 93) as this can be achieved with the stock turbo easily. He listens to the tuner and buys a GT35R and it spools like a turd. Also the tune was $1k from one of the most popular tuners and I told him to get one of the guys from the states to tune it and I even showed him the results on this forum for stock 9 turbo but he followed that tuner's advice anyway.

Also, the dynos here are inflated as hell and still dont put down the power they should be..

I think you should get TSCOMPUSA tune as there have been nothing but great reviews for him.

270awkw is a bit of a stretch on our 98ron.

Don't think so mate. If you didn't already know our 98 is equivalent to US 93. The car had the big 16G turbo, headwork, cams, manifold etc (but stock block) so should have been achieved quite easily. Have a look on the forum here, there are countless threads of evo 9 turbo to 400whp. The other thing you did not consider is in NZ, we normally have nice and cool weather which should help the power figure too. Almost all NZ tuners dont like going past 23psi on Evo even though you specifically request it....If you dont believe me, just pick up the phone and call a "reputed" tuner of your choice in NZ and see what he says regarding how much boost they are willing to push on stock block and turbo on evo 9.

Sorry, I assumed everything else was close to stock. However, I got 280kw at 26psi. We tried to tune for 29/30psi but anything over 26psi started to knock like crazy! We just stopped there as we thought our gas was the limiting factor.

OP - does Tom tune links? Or will you be going back to stock ecu?

upgrading the turbo is 100% not an option there is absolutely nothing wrong with what I have, I don't need a more laggy turbo when mine will be capable of 600HP with the right set up. E85 with my current set up would make a lot more power as it is.

would that happen to be a indian guy name Jaspreet singh black evo 9 in Hamilton by any chance ?

I must be doing alright at 300KW on 98 Ron then if that's a stretch LOL

At the moment im thinking about getting Jay from Boosted tuning to remote tune my car. any opinions towards boosted tuning guys ? (tscomp is just to busy and very difficult to communicate with) while iv seen some good work from Jay and he's been very pleasant to talk to.

Yeap I was referring to achieving that result on the evo9 turbo.
