It always start with wanting more..
Special Thanks to Evan Smith from ESTunning, Kristen Bond from BondSpeed Works and Everyone at Modern Automotive Performance for being there to help out.
Mods:
2.3L Evolution IX MR
JE 9:1 Pistons
Manley I-Beam Rods
4G64 Crank
MAP T4 Twin Scroll kit with PT6466 Turbo
GSC S2 Cams with MAP Beehive Springs
FIC 2150cc Injectors
AEM Fuel Rail
MAP Rev3 Intake Manifold
FullBlown 70mm TB
Buschur Double Pumper
AgencyPower Exhaust
Speed Density Tune
Nisei Intercooler with Nisei Upper and Lower Intercooler piping
Stock MR Transmission with ACT 6 puck clutch
All interior, fully functioning AC, street legal.
This is the complete Turbo kit fresh out of the box:
I will let most of the pictures do the talk, but the welding and the design of this was top notch. Props to MAP for offering such a high quality kit.
Quick comparison between PT6466, EF4 and Stock Turbo:
Manifold on Engine:
Turbo and manifold installed:
Installed on the Car:
Fitment was tricky, as with any other T4 Twin Scroll turbo setup. I noticed that it was easier to install the radiator, then install the wastegate exhaust tube.
The exhaust tubes and downpipe was also tricky, so I recommend that the downpipe and wga tubes are installed loosely with the v-clamp in place, it was much easier to have two people in place and have someone tighten the clamps while the other person holds the exhaust in the desired spots.
Dyno day picture:
Here is the 91 octane tune, with wastegate pressure only. This is a very conservative tune at 25psi.
Here is the E85 Tune maxing out the boost controller at 35psi.
Overall, I was very pleased with the results, car runs very strong. We can easily hit 750whp or more if we had the extra boost. Next thing to do is to install 5psi springs to the wgas, that should allow me to run more boost and hopefully get to 42psi and get a glory run out of the car.
Thanks Everyone
