Evo 8 SSL - Built 2.0L Stock IX turbo GSC S1 93 & E85

I normally don't really share stock turbo results anymore because of the volume of them we tune now, but id like to share this because we did it at the shop and the results are a nice display of what a good mod list can do even not put on full kill.

We took this evo last minute for the weekend because the other one we had planned work for the part did not arrive in time. This was supposed to be just a EGR block / emission/vac line clean up, but turned into much more after we were done our thorough inspection.

Under the car we noticed oil surrounding the head. Being alarmed by this, we told the customer and recommended a compression test. We performed the test, and cyl's were not even 30psi apart or so, so we then recommended a leakdown test and that passed but barely.

So for good measures we refreshed the headgasket and paid close attention to detail while tearing into the car for anything off, but everything was good.

We swapped gaskets, retorqued studs, put everything back together and were done.

We found two leaks both at each side of the return line, 2 new gaskets later and that was resolved. Finally we can tune the car.

Thankfully the car tuned extremely easy.

Mods were:
(Evo 8 SSL /w 186K miles)
Built 2.0L wiseco hd/manley h-beams
Stock Evo IX turbo /w FP compressor housing (open inlet tuning)
GSC S1 cams
Megan o2 housing
FIC 1050cc inj
Walbro 255
Buschur 3" /w bullet muffler
Injen upper piping
TurboXS bov
Toxic Tubular exhaust manifold
ETS 3" FMIC /w lower pipe
Grimmspeed 3 port + hallman mbc
Tephra v7 speed density /w 2 stage ecu boost control

Power on both E85 & 93. I could of ran more boost on e85 and ramped torque more, but I wanted to keep it extra safe for the customer.

Straight 93 3rd gear & 4th (24-26psi):

E85 (30psi) vs 93 (26psi) - 3rd gear:

Some pics of work we did:

This is also the cleanest high mileage evo I've ever seen in person. Everyone I asked to guess its mileage said around 60K, but it has almost 186K.

Engine bay before we touched it. This shows how much improvement we do to cars we get:

Customer put his car on a mustang dyno. It was about 20F warmer during dyno vs actual tune date.

Heres the video:

No problem! Let's go faster sooner than later.

It's not always what you know - but WHO you know. We're gonna take you to the next level. Now get that dang dyno!

I like how the dyno at IMW in Carlisle PA read super low - goof gimmick to reel in people to lose! This sheet will stay with the car even after the new set up. Does this make me an *******? HAHAHA

The numbers look right on the actual dyno to me. Not sure I understand what your post is about.

It's known locally that this is one of the lower reading dynos. If I would have put it on a different mustang, or the time was taken to properly calibrate the dyno - the numbers would have been higher. We call their dyno the "heart break dyno".

I don't mind having a sheet reading lower - I can only claim to make x power when I'm truly hitting y power.
