Evo 9 bbk full 460 93oct. 500 e85

So after three years of ownership, I finally have something worthy to contribute to the dyno section. Car is an evo 9, stock block, stock head and stock gears. Full weight minus spare and tools in the trunk. The car made more power on both fuels used than I expected.

Mod list:
Stock block, head and gears
Arp headstuds
Ported bbk-full with upgraded wga
Kelford 272 cams
Gsc valve springs and retainers
Jmf hood exit stock frame dump
Full 3" exhaust with test pipe
ETS 4" wide tank
Ets licp, muse stock route uicp
3" speed density intake
Tial Q
Milspec 65mm TB
Intake manifold port matched to TB only
PTE 1200cc injectors
AEM 320 e85 fuel pump
Grimmspeed 3 port
4 bar map

The car is tuned at 28psi on both fuels, car was showing 26 psi by 3900rpm. My tuner said he could've gone up to 30 psi and added about 3 degrees of timing from 5k up, but I was more than happy with the power. 0 counts of knock at any rpm, tune looked completely safe. Tuned by Kasey Harris at Dyno time speed works. The rpm signal was fighting us, so I just told him to ditch the torque. Made 370wtq on 93 and 415wtq on e85. Peak torque was 5100 rpm.

Yeah Kasey is a stand up guy, I'm a Mercedes technician and usually work on my own stuff. So the fact that I let him work on it should say alot lol. I don't have any recent pictures of it, just old stuff from when it was stanced and I was a loser. I'm the guy who hit you up on Facebook about your awesome wheel setup.

Why were the pulls started so late? It makes the turbo look laggier than my red, when we all know it isn't lol

Are they or is it just that the x axis is in MPH not RPM? Nonetheless thats great power for a BBK Full and looks to be a pretty smooth powerband. I just wish the graph was in RPM im trying to think in my head right now what it correlates to from MPH to RPM...

Yeah sorry guys, the rpm pickup was not working with us. Car was seeing 26psi by 3900 rpm. I believe that's about 200-300 rpm slower than stock. Never dynod the stock turbo to know though.

That's great for stock block! We actually have similar mods.
s3 cams, bb fp red, stock block also. Made 430/395 on a mustang dyno, so we're pretty close power wise.

Have you had a chance to get in to the 1/4 yet?

I haven't yet but I do plan on it. I'm hoping that I can get my 60' down to a decent time and go through the traps around 125. Might be a long shot though

Great numbers, I'm glad I'm not the only sucker still using 93 lol

I plan on running similar mods, 27~28 lbs but I do not plan on upgrading the head studs. Is it necessary ?

I would be using straight 93, but there are finally 2 local stations carrying e85. It's painful to see everyone else making nasty power on e85 and not having any around you lol

I wouldn't say headstuds are absolutely necessary, but it's definitely added security. I'm sure there's people who have run 30+psi on bigger turbos making more power on stock head bolts. But why question if you'll lift the head or blow the head gasket everytime you do a pull? Only $120 and some labor, and you'll sleep better at night lol

it is painful, nearest e85 station is 1:10 minutes away from me .

As far as the head studs, my build is already way more then I planned.
Went from a FP hta upgrade to a FP black with 3.5" Intercooler and kelford cams.

I need to draw the line somewhere.

Yeah I can understand that. It definitly adds up alot faster than you expect it too. Personally though if I was going to sacrifice something in my build to save money, it wouldn't be headstuds. Atleast not if you plan to make some serious power. There's alot that can go wrong really quickly when you start lifting the head.
