hey audio gurus, i want to go with 5.1 in my evo, I have basic idea of how it all works but what do i need, so far a have alpine center speaker, alpine amp to power center channel and alpine 5.1 dts porcessor what else is needed?

 

Whch processor do you have, H701? The most importnat thing is content. Somehting has to be recorded in 5.1 for a processor to play it back that way. There is obviously plenty of video sources with 5.1 audio but not many audio only discs.

I would ditch the crappy center channel. In a small reflective environment the center speaker doesn't really help. If it is the processor I think, good front speaker placement and tuning will give you a great center image and a full left to right stage with excellent height, depth and width.
