Early Response Lowjack
Thank you ^ lol! The reason why I spend 1200 and the other guy spent 599 on the lowjack w/early response system is because mine came with warentee. If my car is not found I recieve 2,500 cash plus the lowjack product and install is refunded.
DEI and the other security companies have the cash gaurantees too. They are BS that really only pay your deductible if hte conditions are met. The key to good security is install. I put a security system in my 95 Legend Coupe and I used to give my keys to people pick up the phone and call my car to kill the engine and trigger the system, unlock the doors set sensors etc. I have the same setup in my Evo, I just don't give anyone my keys!
I could never imagine paying 1200 for an alarm. If a thief steals my car, then my insurance will replace it for $500. I'd rather not see the original one ever again.
As said before... if a pro wants it... they will get it.

I also have an RS and had the LowJack system installed through dealership...my rationale...this is my track toy car. It will be loaded toys i will be acquiring through its lifetime. Although it will be street driven rarely, in the event i do, i want some protection against theives, not necessarily for them stealing anything inside (it will mostly be gutted), but recovery of the vehicle itself and the mods and time i put in it. just my .02 cents...
IMO, a good alarm system (I have a Viper) and a cleverly located kill switch (have one that kills the fuel supply) is a good investment. LoJack is all about recovering stolen cars, right? I don't want to get my EVO back if it has been stolen. Who knows what they are going to do with it, and If I was to get it back, it would never be the same. Let's face it, if they want the car bad enough, they're going to take it, no matter what you do short of a platoon of armed guards around it everywhere you go.
