Stereo problems

Ok... I am most likly gettin my evo this weekend. But rite now I have a civic si. I juss ordered a new head unit for it before I new bout gettin the evo (long story). But the company I got the stereo from says it wnt fit in an evo.. Not if its cuz the stereo mite be too small.. Is it a problem to try n get it to work?? N they sent me wiring.. Would the wiring work in my car even tho everything they sent me was for my civic si setup.. Or should I juss return it for a new headunit that says on the site it will fit?? N if so what kind of head units did u guys buy and what price did u pay and if u can give a lil feedback on them.. Thnx guyss.

Dude if its a CIVIC SI Set up and you drive an EVO chances are it wont work. Would you put a civic SI motor in your EVO???

The wiring is vehicle specific. Get what is made for the car and dont mickey mouse it.

If the head unit is a normal single DIN then it will work. The wiring however will not.

Wiring is an easy fix, just hit your local audio shop and ask for a Lancer (yes, lancer) wiring harness. If you are getting an SSL another setup is required...not sure which, there are a few threads - search.

If the stereo you ordered is Single-Din it will fit. If it is Double-Din you will need to get ahold of the Orbital Prestige 2-Din conversion kit (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=225466)

That could be a problem if he ordered a stock head unit for the civic.

Who does that? And why would you want to put it in an evo?

I'm sure that "the company" meant that the harness supplied will not work.

I got it offa crutchfield. The thing is. When I had the headunit I bought. I had it set up on a civic si and it says the headunit will fit. Then when I changed the set up for an 06 lancer. It says the headunit would not fit. So i'm guessin it's too big?? I dunono. I'll probly just order a different one to avoid any installation problems.

How many spelling bee championships do you have under your belt?

Anyway, good luck with your stereo and your evo.
