Gotta say "hell yea" on the RX65. Best hands down for me. Super long range and you will get your moneys worth in no time.... www.radardetector.net does exstensive test on all detectors, read the reviews and judge for yourself

Before you or anyone buys a Radar Detector do your homework. Check out this site that did hands on testing...

http://www.radarbusters.com/support/...radar-best.asp

You'll be surprised that the most expensive is not always the best out there. I used this site above to purchase my new radar detector and was thankful that I came across this site. Tons of very useful info......

Ignorant statement if I've ever heard one.

The V1 is not the top dog anymore...do some research. Also the X50 has been tested to perform as well if not better in all aspects of testing...once again, do some research. And the X50 is much cheaper.

The RX65 seems to be the best money can buy right now. Don't bother asking for opinions because everyone will be biased. Go to a few of the many "radar test" websites and read up on what they say. In the end, no radar detector will protect you 100% of the time and common sense and paying attention to the road will save you more tickets than any electronic gadget.

As for Lasar jamming...it's legal in ALL states. Laser frequencies are not controlled by the FCC unlike radar freqs.

another link to a test for you guys...
http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9090

BEL Pro RX65 came in first, x50 a close second. I think I still like the Passport more.

Also, FWIW an older test with the old K40 system (there have been a couple of newer generations since): http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=1064
**the valentine get pwned in that test

also theres a pretty lengthy test here: (link is to conclusions page)

I purchased the beltronics Rx-65 from an Ebay vendor the other day. The Range is amazing !
Now its a fare fight. You can catch cops with the K,Ka,X band like 3 miles away....depending on terrain....A must have if you live a daily commute like I do. Everyone drives over the limit here where I live, the Po-Pos will single an Evo out over the next car. Get yourself some protection, it saved me a ticket yesterday while cruising on the intersate doing the same seed as all the other cars, the cops got another car but not mine with the big wing...

I'm a huge fan of the Whistler 3450.

I have the display is stealth mounted where the clock used to be (fits perfectly). The detector is bolted to the undertray on the front drivers side of the car. Laser detector is mounted to the rear view mirror and is almost unnoticable.

I would say it's saved me from 4-5 tickets so far.

+1 I totally agree! V1 is the best. ive also heard some good things about the escort series too. the only downside to the V1 is the price... $400 is pretty steep.. but even if it saves you one ticket, i say its worth it!!!

There sure are a lot of people around here with too much money to burn

I mean seriously? For daily driving you need a $400+ radar detector? I finally broke down and bought a new one and got a middle of the road Beltronics. I had a Whistler 1140 for 11 years that I purchased at sams club for like $80 and I never ONCE got pinched with it. Only reason I replaced it is its old, scratched up and kinda dingy looking. I have had it in 7 separate vehicles over the years.

Find one with decent reviews that fits your budget unless you HAVE to be doing 130mph at all times.

I picked up, from a friend, a Vector 995 for $30.. works great. Already warned me of cops sitting on the side of the road around bends with radar pointing in my direction

Worth the $30? I think so..

Retails $299
