I think those Bostons would enjoy quite a bit more power to open them up. Perhaps a step up to 100-150w rms would pay off nicely with those.

To chime in on this thread topic... I've chosen Alpine Type Xs up front, which are driven by an Alpine PDX 4.150. I'm very happy with the sound. The ring tweeters are smooth, and never get hard no matter how hard I push them. Alpine sure can pick good driver manufacturers for some of their lines. hahaha

The BA pros like to be run hard. You should be able to through alot more power at em unless you're goin to bridge em for 120w rms. I'm really in a toss up between these, the CDT CL62's and the CDT ES 610's

Thanks for the advice. I am looking for ultimate quality rather then SPL, and I didn't want to tax my alternator/battery too much running a lot of high power amps. Maybe I'd be better off with the SX50/60. I was only planning on giving them two of the channels of the 4x60, and the other two for rear fill, and then using a 2x100 on my 10"sub.

Yeah the Boston Pro's really like the power . . . with 60 watts I don't think you'd really be using them to anywhere near their potential.

OK after 2 weeks of researching, I just ordered my system. This is just a start for now. I'll be adding a 10" Polk sub in a couple of weeks and throwing the other 2 channels off the amp (bridged) at it.

Alpine CDA-9857 HU
CDT CL-61A-25 Pro w/upgraded TW-25 silk dome tweeters
Pheonix Gold 200X4 Xenon amp

I'll keep yall posted on how the install turns out next week.

I have JL Audio XR653-Cs three way component set up front and JL Audio XR 650-Csi two way component set in the rear. Pushed by a JL 450/4 amp, the front two channels of the amp run the 3-way components at 4 ohms stereo powering them with 150 watts per channel and the rear two channels of the amp run the 6 1/2" components in the C-pillars at 4 ohms stereo powering them with 75 watts per channel.
It sounds sick.

With a good set of speakers, you need a good amp and HU. In my case i use Sound Blaster Extreame Music sound card on a computer setup. I'm just disappointed with these HU these days. It sure makes the difference comparing to my Kenwood HU.
