I first had the oldschool 8500 escort which ended getting messed up for some odd reason so I had it replaced for the x50 which i then sold and ended getting the v1 as gift. I then ignorantly sold my x50 when i started working at bestbuy because i could get the x50 so cheap, but damn what a mistake! I miss my v1 lkie crazy! I ended up selling my x50 and am now waiting to get the V1.

I didn't know about them loosing the patent for the arrows though. I may wait a little longer.

And that radardetectors website is extremely bias, I've tried owned both x50 and V1, and honestly save up a little longer for the v1, you will not regret it!

No actual problems, but its performance was no where near the v1's. It was ridiculous, the difference was very very noticeable. Maybe I was just used to the v1 being BADASS.

It's the way the evo is wired, interference when reving the motor. This destroyed my 3 year old Passport 8500 which pissed me off. High RPM revs would make the laser detection go nuts. There have been complaints about this when I called customer support. I bought The Bel STi and it seems to be a superior radar/laser detector.

Read post #25.

Radar jammers are illegal.

Laser jammers are legal, in most states.

There are A LOT of laser jammers that are crap..

I did some research on this a while back, the Blinder M20 was the best, and worked perfectly in every test, it's like $400

MotorTrend said it was the Ferrari Enzo of laser jammers... take that for what it's worth

I have the X50 Blue, and I love it. I would still purchase the V1 over anything else if I were to spend the hard cash. Bel makes a good product, but the V1 has it all in my opinion.

But wait my young grasshopper, a lot of times an officer will pop you multiple times with laser to either confirm his original reading or because his gun displayed the infamous error code. As long as he is in front of you, hitting your brakes under certain conditions may work in your favor.
