Yet another MITAH and SSL question/problem

Okay, I did a search and found a WHOLE butt load of things that dont answer my question so i figure i'm unique.

I have an evo8 w/SSL

I installed a new aftermarket HU and used the MITAH cable. Plugged the RCA's off the MITAH to the front 2 RCA's and rear 2 RCA's slots of the HU and just left the subwoofer RCA's from the radio not connected. I'm assuming that the entire stock infinity system goes to one amp.

All inside speakers are working except the stock sub. I tested fades and balances, all are working correct, but nothing comes out of the sub.

I highly doubt that the subwoofer function on the HU makes a difference but i jacked that up anyways. Nothing.

Any ideas?

Did you do anything with the blue wire from the mitah adapter? I believe that it needs to be soldered to the blue/white - amp turn on wire on the stereo harness, or the sub will not work.

yea, i connected it with the remote cable off the head unit.

I initially thought that may be the cause but isnt the sub and speakers being powered by the one amp under the driver seat?

If the speakers work but not the sub, i'm assuming that the amp is on and the blue/remote connection is good

Just for clarification, did you just hook up the mitah adapter? 2 adapters are required, 1 mitah and one mitsubishi installation harness BHA7001.

Yes, when i got the mitah cable, it came with the harness. So i did hook up both.

I've installed several aftermarket HU on several cars, but never needed something like the MITAH cable and i might have done something wrong this time.

That's weird. I used the MITAH and METRA (power adaptor) and it works fine for my Infinity stereo. It could be a couple things. 1) the sub is blown 2) the amp blew a fuse for the sub channel 3) the amp just crapped out on the sub channel. Maybe try quickly hooking up the stock head unit again and see if the sub plays. If not, you may be SOL.

Sorry...forgot one more thing. Your head unit may have bad rear channel RCA outputs. That's probably not likely if you HU is new...but that could the cause.

Yeah, really - I have the same setup and my sub works just fine. But I had someone else do it for me.
