looking for really small 4 channel amp
didn't see that link at first, that kenwood looks nice, but way too big for an underseat application. I think I'm going to go with the Alpine, it's a good balance of price and power.
for subs I was planning on an Infinity basslink, nothing too powerful but enough to be a good sounding system.

um, no, i meant 600 x 4
i know he said small amp, but the gain can be turned down... and most people want small amps because of price... for 50 bucks shipped and probably another 50 to fix it... that is pretty cheap

Evo3GEclipse, as davids2004 mentioned, that Kenwood fits under the seat. FYI, anything 15 inches and under will slide out from under the seat.

i ran it on my highs in my 03 Evo... it sounded great... just keep the gain down as you dont need much. Didnt blow any of the speakers... worked perfectly. You could actually use one channel to power a sub and the other the highs as well
also keep in mind... when you see a # on an amp... say in this case 600 x 4 .... thats max power. What matters is RMS #'s in this case is 75 x 4 at 4 ohms.

Their was a question earlier in this thread about the Alpine's being Class D and that Class D was only for sub amps. That used to be the case until Alpine came out with these new PDX amps. From what I've read about them (search for Car Audio magazine and they have a write up on these amps) they are very clean sounding, powerful and don't suck a ton of juice from the car. Kenwood makes decent amps...better than Sony. The Alpine would sound the best, but might be more expensive than the Kenwood.

Yeah, you're right. They don't technically consider them Class D...but they share a lot of the same engineering and design. So, they pretty much function as Class D, but don't sound like Class D. Pretty ingenious design I think. Either way, I hear they are pretty decent amps. Anyone have any installed in their car? Or, heard them on a board at the car stereo store?
