Keyless entry with Viper alarm question

I just had a Viper 3000 installed on my MR. I just wanted something that would page me and give me a piece of mind. I had a prox sensor installed too.

Is there a way to get the doors to unlock just like the factory keyless system does? That is, one press of the unlock button unlocks only the drivers door and a second press unlocks all doors?

My installer thinks not but he's looking into it. Does anyone know if it can be done?

Thanks beforehand.

It should. You have the paging until and even if you didn't it still should. I have the Viper 5000 and it does

Thats at lease a reiief that it can be done. Just in case the installer chokes, what wires from the alarm to the car are used for this? I see the unlock all reference on www.the12volt.com but it's for an Evo vii.

It can be done but you don't use the reference wire for the unlock. You need to find the unlock signal coming from the BCM for the driver door and the unlock wire for all the doors and use a couple relays and 5 wire them.

Come to think of it, you could probably do it with 1 relay on the driver unlock motor wire from the BCM and use both unlock outpuits off the alarm, diver priority to the relay and all door to the reference wire.

You will need to go in and mess with programing for driver priority as well.

the system is probably set to "Double Pulse Unlock" stand by your car and hit unlock and see if the driver's door unlocks and then like 2 seconds later the other 3 unlock, if so double pulse unlock just needs to be turned off. Once turned off, the viper remote will work just like your factory remote.

This is awesome! My installer said that he "usually" doesn't install like this. He seems like a cool guy. Anyway he did use a relay (or 2) and made the horn work instead of drilling holes for the siren, which I really like.

Nope, 1 pulse and all doors unlock. Once inside and I start the car there's a pulse and all but the drivers doors lock. I believe with the factory clicker if you unlock all doors they all stay unlocked.

Any clue as to where I can get a IX wiring diagram that shows where to find the drivers door only the rest of the doors unlock outputs?

I'm in the electronics field and once I see the schematic I understand it. BTW, I just installed a Kenwood KVT-819DVD head unit and KNA-G510 (Kenwood/Garmin) GPS. It's pretty sweet! Now, after my hands heal!..

Thanks again
