Dealer installed alarm question?

I just recently purchased a 06 EVO SE and I had an alarm system added on when financing through the dealership.. The dealer claimed that they did not know what the name of the alarm was so I did a little investigating. I found out the name of the company that installs the alarms, contacted them and they told me that I was going to be getting an Audiovox Pro 9232 alarm.

Is this a good alarm considering the dealer is charging 875.00 for this?
Last time I checked Audiovox was not all that great.

It is decent and you got ripped the **** off.

Audiovox has a lifetime warrenty, which can be a good thing. The sad part is, the dealer probably got charged 150 bucks from the shop that installed it. I think wholesale cost on the alarm module is 34 bucks.

Remember, an alarm is only as good as its install. Alot of times these dealer guys just try and get it done fast. Just take a look under your dash when they are done, if you can see a brain, your alarm is useless. Hopefully everything works out for ya

Well good news.. The dealership allowed the cancellation of the alarm sale since the install had not been done yet. Thanks for the advice!!

That is good news. Go buy a nice alarm from a local car audio shop and have it installed by them. You should be able to get it for $200-$300 total.
