Dome Light help

I removed the dome light when I removed the headliner for cleaning/repair and after re-install the domelight does not come on when the doors open. The two map lights work and you can turn the light on with the switch just does not work with the door. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Any help is appreciated. (all fuses check good with multimeter)

If the light works with the switch in the on position and the map lights work then the ground is good. Just in the door position does it not work.

Just found a schematic and there is a "Keep Relay" (the name on the schematic) a Load determination circuit ETACS ECU and an Interior Light Automatic shutdown backup circuit. Guess I am going to have to try and figure this out or get it to a friend of mine to see if he can figure it out. If anyone knows or deals with these wiring schematics please help if you can?

I have tried everything minus buying a new dome light assy or pssible the computer. If I can't figure it out in the next couple of weeks a new dome light assy will go in.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm having a similar issue. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

My dome light doesn't work period. I just got my car, so IDK if the bulb is burnt or what. My question is how do I even get the dome light to come off?

You can pop it off with a tiny precision flat head screwdriver. Make sure not to touch any metal or you may pop a fuse. You might be able to pull it off with your fingernail. Use a multimeter and check resistance.

I just took my headliner out just now and Im not sure if this is related but when I did it I was searching for a way to remove the dome light (before I read on here, and before popping off the light cover). Stupidly I grabbed that middle button and pulled it out. I haven't put it back in yet because Im working on the car right now, but I have a feeling it wont work since it wasn't clicking like it was before. I know when I took the button out a little silver ball fell out. I have a feeling that needs to be in place somewhere to get the current flowing. Any ideas from anyone so far?
