a w7 is pointless if you are going to port, they shine sealed but there are so many better subs for ported use for a fraction of the cost. I will send you a pm with a pic of what I think you would be happy with and you can let me know if you think itd work for you...

the w7 line has very very strong output in ported enclosures. I would definately say a properly designed 12w7 enclosure would have greater ouput than 2 sealed bostons.

A former car audio competitor of course has no knowledge of real world acoustics . What a formula says and what actually happens in a vehicular atmosphere are two different things...

If he wants to be louder he needs to port and if he doesn't have a minimum of 2cuft net per sub then he shouldn't waste his time. I know plenty of installers such as yourself that think they know everything there is to know when in reality they know as little as one that works for circuit city or best buy...

Just because you know manufacture specs and how to install something doesn't mean you know how to do it properly
No, you're the internet installer who reads forums loaded with 18 year olds with home theater surround sound system in their corola's. And when confronted by those who work in the industry, resort to spelling insults to cover their lack of real world experience.

You have a pm also outlining my experience in the field.

@DontRevMe

Thats why I held the IL state title along with 3rd in the world at finals, because I'm an internet wannabe. You are the one that began with the insults not me.

Not to mention I was sponsored by Kinetik and Kicker... That means nothing as well.

I insulted you because you give bias advice and come off as an internet Troll.

What does that have to do with the real world? It was in a stock car that I daily drove with a musically tuned box. I peaked at 38hz, how many competitors do you know that peak at that note with a single sub in a stock car?

I find JL to be overpriced. But that doesnt make them bad. I would never run JL mids, not a big fan of their amps, but their drivers are solid. I actualy Prefer ARC to JL in every aspect.

I agree JL isn't a bad company if I were to run a sealed setups imho a w7 would be one of the best candidates. There is just much more out there for a lower price that can perform as well if not better in a ported enclosure. A former team mate of mine Lee Byerly runs arc amplifiers, they make great equipment.
