headunit?

I've been looking into a new headunit/carpc and I wanna stay cheap but good and with the most functions.

I've read and read on headunits but they are usually all out of my price range but i found this one which looks like it has all the options of all the others.

Its a Xovision 7" Touch screen in dash tv/dvd with bluetooth and ipod. its for 368.88+tax and i get a 10% discount.

http://walmart.scosche-cars.com/prod...40230&sfID1=24
its from walmart so i can always return it if i don't like it.

But just wanted to know, if i'll be able to hook up navi with it or not, cause the carpc will have co-pilot with live time navi.
Its not going to be VGA but I think on such a small screen VGA isn't important.
and any other incites would help.

I wanna run a Carpc and just have one screen and not do a radio relocation.

Anything would help, Even if you wanna bash on the item go for it. Just wanna see if its worth getting or not.

I say no. Sorry to be negative, but wal-mart does not seem to be a good choice. Save up and look deeper into it. I just don't think that product will benefit you in to long-term. Keep looking and saving. Then you can get a higher quality unit. Just my .02.

Go with a pioneer, kenwood or alpine. I have always had good luck with those.

I voted 'do more homework' and not just because I thought each should have a vote.

I'm assuming that you have never played with this device based off of your post. I would suggest you play with it, test it out. Is it motorized, how well does that work? How do the materials feel? Would it fit in with your car, etc. Are you going to get what you pay for or will it work out? If it all seems to work out and nothing else meets your budget/needs then go for it!

BTW - just because it is only 7" does not rule out that it isn't VGA. I can't seem to get Walmart's site to work (imagine that) so I couldn't get much info on it. I'm going to guess that for this price that it isn't but you could fit 640x480-ish on that screen. I say -ish because it is most likely a wide resolution.

Ok I'm a little off topic here, but I need some help with units like the pioneer avic n2. I really like it and I was trying to find other units that have the same features. I don't know much about stereos so any input is cool. I would like to get the in dash models but I don't think I'll be able to get the orbital kit so i think I'm going to stick with the motorized units.

I'm not really sure what the question is. I have the avic-N3 in my Evo and I like it a lot. I like the functionality, the numerous modifications you can make, the UI is decent enough, and interoperability and the add-on list is huge (for a price, of course).

I would have preferred the Z1 as it is HDD based. The avic-N3 being disc based really shows in the performance. The Z1 isn't without its faults though, like the way you copy music to your HDD is kinda crappy. From the limited seat time I have had with the Z1, I could live with the way music is copied to the drive.

I have an Alpine IVAD-W205 and love it. Would never look back. You get what you pay for.

Oh sorry I meant to ask for a comparison between the pioneer and other brands. I was looking for something that can rival the avic n-series. I'm pretty set on getting an n2 or something more recent, but I'm willing to look at other brands if they offer more or seem better overall.

Understood, c_sautter. I guess I can't help, since I have the N3. Good luck!

i voted get it and try it. like you said you can always return it if you dont like it. It looks like a steal IMO but that might be a red flag to stay away... its all personal opinion.

Yahu, how much did you pay for it and how hard was it to install? I want to get everything I can with it, including the back up camera. I don't need it though.
