You should check out Crutchfield.com, you can select your vehicle and see what fits, ratings, and it's usually cheaper. They include the install kits if needed.

Do your research on Crutchfield and Best Buy and such, but buy off ebay. Its at least 100+ dollar cheaper there than anywhere else. Also for a really good quality speaker check out MB Quartz, but when i installed my Alpine CDA-3885 (I think thats the model number and i was coming from a Kenwood unit) i was really impressed with the improved sound quailty. The higher quality amp in the Alpine unit really cleaned up the music.

Sounds to me like you are looking for some low-end aftermarket speakers. If so, might I suggest the Infinity Reference line that you can get for cheap on ebay and brand new. They sound good for the money.

Best thing you can do is visit Best Buy, Circuit City, Tweeter or any other place that has speakers on display...AND LISTEN TO THEM. Only you can decide what sounds good to you. I could suggest speakers that I like, which may sound completely horrible to you. Or vice versa. You should also decide what type of sound you want. Do you want a "bright" sound? Do you want something that will faithfully reproduce the music? Do you want quality bass out of the door/rear deck speakers? Again, best thing you can do is go to the store and listen to all of the speakers (don't worry about price or brand name). Just close your eyes and listen. You'll hear differences in speakers and may be surprised at how good some speakers sound to you compared to others. Also, bring a CD with music that you are familiar with...music you've heard on a stereo that you think is good. Could be your home stereo. Could be a set of headphones. Then try to find a set of speakers that sound similar to that other stereo.

Good luck.

^Exactly! spend the time to go to the retailers and listen for yourself. I personally shopped around, and ended up at Tweeter and purchased a 6.75" MB Quart Component set the day after Thxgiving. So I go a DEAL!

Polk Audio DB6501 components should be direct fit as they come with 6.75" trim rings, and I've heard success stories from other Evo owners. They can be had for ~$120 a pair on eBay.

He wont have a tweeter down there, it will be a sound advice. But yea, best thing to do is to just listen to them, only you know what speakers sound good to your taste. Good luck!

I worked at Best Buy and picked up a set of Infinity speakers and they will give you the clearest sound from what Best Buy offers. I recommend a nice amp to go with those and maybe a small sub for the back.

Whats your price range to start with? If it is high dollar, I would suggest spend the money on some Focals...I love them.

But Polk makes the S6500 I think they are called...they are fantastic for the price.

What I would do? I would use the S6500 with a Zapco 360.4, a good head unit of your choice (so many out there, Alpine makes good stuff, but I like Eclipse) and I would buy one of the Alumapro Alchemy BP box and the Polk components...

Its lightweight enough that it wont go crazy, and if you just have the front componenent sets, aimed properly, and eliminate the rear speakers, you'll have some pretty good sounding stuff. SHould only run you a couple grand

I know its pricier stuff, but you didnt set a price limit.
