Ok gang today I tried to clean off this little tens of thousand annoying smudgy dots like things on my windshield and it's a pain to get rid of it. Every day there is more and more build up of it. It's gotten worst to point where it is hard to drive in the day time and when the sun flares out,...good god it's just annoying. I already replaced my third blades in like 3 months. First blade changed was done three years after owning the car. I tried cleaning it using water mixed with the rainX windshield liquid thing and still won't touch it. It appear to be worse the more I use it. I mixed a little bit of Rain X liquid thing into my windshield washer fluid reservoire, it seems to flick the rain off. But look to me that it's building up more of those annoying dots. At first I thought it was the Turtle Wax Car Wash soap that I used for the past years. I thought that was causing it. But last car wash, I didn't wash my windshield with that stuff and just used water mixed with Rain X liquid thing. So guys what is wrong with my windshield? How do I get rid and prevent thos little smudgy spots on my windshield? By the way my replacement blades was Rain X. They work perfectly for about a week or so.

 

Try this saw it used on the two guys garage show,they say it works to get the windshield clean of all contaminates.

 

Kitchen and bath cleasner, I got something like that at home. I was cleaning the bath the other day and man all those water spots buildup on there came right off. Made the silver water nob thing shine like new. Is it safe for the exterior of the car though? I mean if I accidently got some on the car.

 

get some 3m perfect 300 course cut compound....its used to cut paint after a fresh paint job...should be white in color....you can also get some fine cut should be grey in color for your paint to remove small scratchs and swirl marks...used this stuff when i worked at a body shop and its the best....

 

Try using a micro-fiber detailing towel. Deep 1/4 of it in gasoline and clean the glass with it. Don't touch the plastics.

Afterwards, take another towel, a new clean one, and use tooth paste to rub on the glass in circular motion, like waxing the glass. When done, use a mild detergent soap mixed in water to wash the paste off. Rinse with water and Towel dry.

Okay I just solved my problem. On my way home from work, I thought about washing my windshield with the brush I used for car washing. What a suprise it does work. Cleaned all those spots right off. Maybe a little touch of Turtle Wax car wash soap can do the tricks. I didn't rinse off the left over soap from my last wash and the brush was still wet from it. So what the heck right? No need to go to the extreme. But I'm just curiouse why won't the Windshield washer fluids and a combonation of Rain X thing work? I mean it's a Windshield washer fluids right? it's supposed to get rid off things on your windshield right? Well class I guess we all learned a valuable lesson today. I guest I should pop those old blades back on just to see.

 

Just so you guys know, rubbing alcohol can also help clean a glass, and I know that somewhere I heard about a mixture of rubbing alcohol, water and vinegar, but im not sure of the ratio of each one to the other....

Funny thing....I guess nowadays no one uses Windex...

Rain X is to be applied to a CLEAN surface. Think of it like a glass wax. It's meant to put a shield layer on the wind shield in order to drop the cohesive force of water on the surface to the point that water beads off when it rains. If you put it on a dirty windshield, you're effectively locking the dirt on and making it harder for water/soap water, to dissolve and clean the dirt. So just give it a good clean like you did and THEN apply a thin layer of RainX

 

clay bar does work, as does #0000 steel wool, and cerium oxide as a last resort to remove minor scratches and tough stains.
