Rear view camera hack possible?

Im wondering if anyone has tried this? Hook up the rear view camera to have it come on with a switch bypassing the Reverse hookup and turn on the camera as a "rear view" mirror of sort... seems pretty simple to do.... just wondering if I'd be the first.....

Are you talking about a aftermarket unit?

It's pretty simple, I have a keyhole mounted camera. When playing FM, cd, mp3, or listening to ipod, the camera function as a rearview mirror. But while watching movies, the camera will switch when I put the gear in reverse or when I manually select the rear camera. Picture quality is great (VCD quality) even at high speed, zoom function and nightvision is nice. See picture #6.

No you would'nt be the first. But why would you do this? With you traveling the image would be very blurry.

depending on the camera the image may be backwards to what you are used to seeing in a rear view mirror. (whats on the left on the screen is right in the mirror)
Some of them flip the image. (my monitor does this, it also has a reverse input the switch it on when ever i go into reverse)
