if exhaust is your mane goal then i would recommend starting with the floor of your trunk. then work your way up. or make a mdf board template for the back seat and seal all gaps going to the cabin as well as the deck lid.

I'm sure you'd hate for all that dynamat to go up in flames... (Actually, Dynamat is not very flammable, but you get my drift )

Focals

Does the dynamat help in your install with road noise and exhaust noise? I bought 110 sq ft of dynamat but havent had time to install it with the weather being so crappy. I am a huge Focal fan I had an old set of utopia and some old k2s but that was stolen out of my Talon. Do the K2Ps sound really accurate? Is there alot of mid bass and accurate midrange? I have been going back and forth about buying another pair.

dynamat is a huge help. if you have 110 sq ft thats way over kill. but it would be nice!

i just dont like that the focals have hella weak mid base. but IMO its the best speaker for the $$$ great response, mind blowing highs. just really weak on the lows....

it would be "do you have A car set up for redneck tunes?"

and yes it is set up for clear highs. not allot of lows. so redneck tunes, white people music, not anything top 40, guitar solos, vocal only etc etc.

and yeah i know its SPL, my bad with the typo/ out of order-ness...

I'm sorry if my genre-zation is inappropriate or offensive. that was not my intent. just what i have always "GENERALLY" called it and do not mean any ill intent.

yeah if i were you i would keep focals up front then buy small 6.5"+ bass drives to sit in the rear deck for bass.
rear fill is not needed

Or you could do 6.5 midbass drivers in the kick panel which always sound nice or put the focals annd highs in the kicks and put the midbass drivers in the door which would be perfect. This would add a lot of sound stage depth equality between speakers. You wouldnt want midbass in the back and compnents in front because it wouldnt make for a very good soundstage for fronts.

i didn't mean midbass drivers in the back but instead small sub drivers (aka something that can produce the lows)

Thanks. I had some left over Dynamat Xtreme and covered the spare tire well and part of the right side trunk floor. I have to admit it did make a difference. I didn't have enough Dynamat to do the rest of the trunk, I'll have to get some more to finish the job.
